I just saw that the opening odds have Bama favored by 10.  Appears the oddsmakers know the SEC is dominant when they make Bama a 10 point favorite over the #1 team in the country.

If ya'll didn't see Spitter Holtz on the The Bowl Selection Show, ya'll missed a treat. I think he actually started foaming at the mouth when everybody was picking Bama. He should do a Vegas act.
"Whenever I see those crimson jerseys and crimson helmets, I feel humbled to have played football for Alabama. Other players in the NFL talk to me about their schools and their traditions. I just smile knowing the immense love Alabama fans have for our school and its football program. I'm proud to be a part of that Crimson Tide heritage."

Consensus seems to be 100% Alabama. Your prediction is the only one giving ND a chance.
Alabama wins, but Notre Dame covers the spread. Tho for the record, I don't like Bama, so ill have to find a way to cheer for ND.

Notre Dame's defense is for real, but their offense is terrible.

I think this is the perfect time to test our nukes and wipe Miami off the face of the planet.

ND's defense is better than what a lot of people are giving them credit for. I doubt we score well into the 30's. I won't offer an official prediction yet. but my early thoughts are that we'll probably score between 21-28 and ND will get around 10-17. It won't be a blowout, but it won't be like the Georgia game either...a lot of time until kickoff though.

Only if the Heat are in town also.
Lebron James and Saban wiped off the face of the earth? Could we have it so good?

I agree with you. Notre Dames front 7 has 4 dudes that will be playing on Sunday. It will be a war when Bama runs the ball. On the other side, I don't see ND doing much unless Bama can't cover TE Eifert(sp). He is a beast.

All I want for Christmas is two tickets to Miami... cheapest I've found so far $1660...guess it is closer than Pasadena was though.

Buy plane tickets and walk in at the half.

I think people look at this matchup like "How will Bama run on that front 7?", but I think Bama will neutralize that strength with short throws, outside runs and screens.  Jarvis Jones is just as good as Teo in my opinion and I think Bama will run for over 100 on ND, maybe much over 100.

Bama has a ton more depth and skill players than ND.  I really think our offense is better than any that they've faced.  I do like Bama to stop the run and contain Golosh.  One ND zealot tried to tell me he was "made from the same mold as Johnny Manziel".  I told him that there was no mold for JF and that he was more like Denard Robinson and they perma banned me.

ND does have a potential mismatch in their TE who leads the team in yards and receptions.  Eiffert is 6-6 250lbs and very athletic.  He is a playmaker like Lutzenkirken who has very good hands, runs strong, and is surprisingly quick.  This is what opens up the ND offense.  He is a relief valve and a first down machine.

He reminds me of Emmory Blake.  He is a gamechanger and you cannot allow that big machine to get the ball downfield.  If you do it's all on you because he is hard to stop.  They extend plays with Golson's scrambling ability and hit this monster when he gets open.

Bama's discipline, technique, and athleticism are the difference in this game.  We may have to fight the zebras also, so don't let this one get close.

28-6 Bama

Now that that is done, I can't wait to get our recruits on campus and see them in the spring game.

Eiffert is a machine. OU could stop Notre Dame on 1st and 2nd down. On 3rd they would put him at WR and run short routes with him. He is to quick for most LB's to cover over the middle and too big for CB's to be effective. Just a tough matchup. If Saban can figure out a way to make him a non-factor, their chances of winning go way up.

It starts with pressure up front and forcing a hurried throw.  I think you need an athletic corner to knock the ball away or hold him until help arrives.

We really do need to get a Notre Dame fan on the site ofr this game. Having a ND fan will make it much more entertaining.

Eiffert is a risky matchup. Our LB's, outside of Mosley, have not been great in coverage this year. I don't see ND having the athleticism to match up with us on the outside, but if Gholson can escape the pocket a few times and get our LBs to break from their position, Eiffert could have a few big catches in the middle of the field. I don't see ND scoring a lot, but I'm sure their gameplan is to make sure we don't score a lot either. I'm excited. Shame we have to wait more than a month for it.
