I didn't even watch most of the 2nd half it was such a beatdown.
Glad they rotate off our schedule. We have bragging rights for a few years.

I'm all for tradition, but the yell leaders are awful.
Even worse in person, if you can imagine.
Just get some female cheerleaders like everyone else, and let the yell leaders do one cheer a quarter or something.
Keep them for tradition's sake without embarassing the school.

We don't cheer, we yell...hence we have yell leaders.

Traditions are what make an institution unique.  We have a lot of them and like them just they way they are.

Yes, I understand that.
I never ragged on A&M because I thought they were cool.
Until I saw them in person.

They are male cheerleaders, except they do like 1000 cheers every 5 minutes and they only have 5 of them to begin with.
They also have some questionable "moves/dances" that go with the cheers.
I appreciate the tradition, but no one else "gets" it. If it's so strange that no one else can even begin to appreciate it, it's time to tone it down.

Cheerleaders make pyramids, do somersaults, and hold up signs.  Yell leaders lead yells.
There's no dancing.  They do use hand signals to inform which yell is coming next and when it starts.
All there is to "get" is that the entire student body executes the yell at the same time.

Glad you appreciate the tradition.  Seriously, I do enjoy the different ones at different schools.  Of course I think ours are the best just like I'd expect anyone else to believe so about his or her school.  Not all are alike but to each his own.  It's one of the big reasons college football as great as it is.

All of that shit is still pretty bizzarre and hard to get used to seeing.  They do look unnatural.  Whatever works though, like MSU's bells we'll get used to it I guess.

Haha, OK maybe not "dancing", but there is spinning and jumping.
I only said I appreciate the tradition because I was being polite. If they toned it down I would appreciate it.
It is terrible, as is.

You shouldn't hold your breath for them to tone it down...That just isn't how it works.

And again- the fact that we sucked at new and previously unexplored levels this past season has nothing to do with the buncha closet queens parading around at College Station. And all the cousin- :lanekiffin:er shit is speculation without substance; these pictures of the Clay Aikenesque sideshow happening at aTm has been extensively documented photographically.

Should I really document imbred arky's for you? There is an abundance of material available on the internets...

I quit trying to make people understand our traditions years ago. It's not going to make sense to anyone no matter how you explain it or how many times you try to explain it. The saying goes "from the outside looking in, you can't understand it. From the inside looking out, you can't explain it."

We are unique. Call them gay, call them queer. Call them whatever you want. I'd keep a short rope on your ladies if you are around them though.
