Hogan let the State fans, GatorBowl and State team and coaches let it go yesterday by...coming thru just as I stated when the Gator Bowl made the selection of a team that had just got smoked by their in state buddy and had lost 4 of 5 games, now 5 of 6 games.

Does common sense come into play in anything any more....this whole bowl season was a joke....top off last night by NIU or whatever the crap they were...WTF

The announced attendance of 48,612 for the 68th Taxslayer.com Gator Bowl on Tuesday was the lowest since the 2000 game between Miami and Georgia Tech, which attracted 43,416. Gator Bowl officials release an actual turnstile count and president Rick Catlett said the number of tickets distributed will likely go up when walk-up sales are tabulated later this week.
Catlett made no bones about it: The matchup between Mississippi State, a team that was in the game two years ago, and Northwestern, a private school, didn’t have much punch for local interest.
“The positive is that we had a team [Northwestern] that won its first bowl game since 1949,” Catlett said. “Seeing those kids and their coaches and fans celebrate on the field the way they did is one of the joys of a bowl game.”
Since the 2000 game, the attendance hadn’t dipped below the 60,243 that watched Texas Tech play Virginia in 2008.

many on here aren't looking past the end of their nose. they like to use the bcs era as the basis for things they say. ole miss fans get accused of using a whole century of football for the basis of what we say. used to be money difference was an issue. not anymore. used to be a university could go somewhere/anywhere and pick any recruit they wanted and all his friends too. not anymore. used to be vandy couldn't access money cause of by laws keeping the athletic dept out of the funds. not anymore. it just took time for it to begin to catch up. i see change and this change will make it harder to stay at the top year in year out. little by little the teams that got things like "lol vandy" can be a player if all comes together. the things that kept some universities out of the picture have been being erased for a few years now and it is beginning to show.
