Kent State is 11-1, and they are #17 in the BCS.  They play Northern Illinois (11-1, 7-1) in the MAC title game.

UCLA is #16 in the BCS.  If they lose in Palo Alto Friday night, they're sure to drop a couple spots.

This would put Kent State, if they beat NIU, in the top 16.

There is no Big East team ranked in the top 25.

Doesn't this give Kent State an automatic BCS bid?

Yes, Kent State would become an AQ at that point, and there would be one less "at-large" bid available for a team like Oregon or Oklahoma.

I don't know.  Put 'em in the Orange Bowl against the ACC champ and it might be a fair fight

It's just another one of those crazy rules of the BCS like only 2 SEC teams can play in a BCS bowl. What if they had a similiar rule like this for basketball playoffs, like only two teams from a conference can be a top seed.

go huskies

would hate to see OU get screwed like that - funny thing, tyhis puts Sooners in a bad spot - they have to pull for Texas

BCS:

SEC vs Notre Dame

Rose

Pac 12 vs B1G

Fiesta

Oregon vs Big 12

Sugar

Florida vs Big East

Orange

ACC vs Kent State

amazingly pathetic, ESPECIALLY if GA Tech beats FSU (which could happen)

That would give UF either Louisville or Rutgers

how Posted Imageed up is that?
They don't think it be like it is, but it do!

it's getting pretty good internet press, just not much talk on the TV 9ESPN scared of losing ad sales??)

Dodd of CBS is calling a GA tech vs Kent State matchup the $50MM Orange bowl that you wouldn't pay to see in September...

I want Kent State to get into a BCS game and win it too.  Then I can relish in the fact that their only loss of the season was a 47-14 drubbing to us in Lexington earlier this year.

Well I can't believe I'm saying this but Kent State has two pretty good RBs, they were impressive that one time I caught them on "da TV".
