If we did offer, it was certainly to bait LSU...Right? Right??

For my sanity I choose to believe this.

Miles said something to the effect of the 27.5 million wasn't true and that he spoke to Jeff Long and the contact was sincere, but nothing serious.  Said he and Long have been friends for a long time.  He really respects Long and the way he does business. He recommended some coaches to Long.  In short Jeff Long just got his buddy a raise and an extension.

May the bridges I burn light the way.

I thought maybe it was a ploy for Arkansas to show everyone what they were willing to pay someone.

id like to think that isnt true. if you put the dollars out there up front you end up getting interest from guys that are just chasing the dollars. i doubt stoops went to Kentucky for the money.... he went because he believes he can build that program and make a home there. i want that kind of coach. give them the money after they have shown interest for reasons other than money.

This is the second thread on this; it should probably be merged with the first thread: http://www.sectalk.c...s-offers-miles/

Beware: The misguided mignons of political correctness abound at SECTALK!

Could Arkansas actually afford to pay anyone that much? If they did I'd seriously start looking for a university underground drug cartel because I don't see where they'd get the $

Not sure if flaming (usually you do when it comes to Arkansas) or if you're just an idiot.

I think any number of schools *could* afford $5 million a year, but it makes no sense to throw that kind of money around.

We're paying Muschamp $2.7 or something like that.

Mack Brown is making $5 though.
