i like where these fan bases are now....ole miss on the up swing, but close enough to remember 2-10 to remain fairly humble.....us on the other hand know we are now as mediocre as they come.

Ole Miss beat us. That's true. They beat the piss out of us. That's true. I have avoided talking crap to OM because I have none, and they deserve this moment. But YOu;re about to get my rant, son. @ForwardRebels, @bbqit @thedoctor @GoldenRebel, cover your ears boys. This aint meant for ya'll, the legitimately victorious.
You, boy, are a POS and a coward. You have proven that you are nothing but a white trash coward. That is all you have ever been. You wished for a young man to be permanently injured because someone hurt your feelings. You have hidden like a bitch after ever OM loss. You don't deserve the good name that is being an OM fan right now. they can warn me about this post, and I don't give a shit. If I were ever to meet you, I would beat you until you could not grow anymore, son. Do you understand me?
I personally look forward to you having watch your chancellor hand that trophy back to State next November. To every other OM fan, congrats. Good game. You;re better than we are. Live it up, after some of the crap you've had, you all deserve it.

we are gonna have to upgrade the coordinator positions NOW if we want to compete next egg bowl. more of wilson and koenning will result in another drubbing.

Everybody gets mad at Wilson. It isn't our killer offense was keeping pace with OM offense. Both of these clowns need firing yesterday.

i dont think this is mullen's worst team...i do think wilson and koenning have done their worst coaching jobs...the fact that we look SO clueless at times, shows me all i need to see...i didnt like koenning 2 years ago and i dont like him now...whatever mullen sees in him, i havent seen it...but we all know he is a yes man and that is on mullen then...
now wilson, his lack of defensive knowledge is unreal...it is PAINFULLY obvious he is not DC material and if mullen doesnt make a change, then that is strike 2 for me (strike 1 being not hiring a special teams coach)...hell, wilson cant even coach his own position...our DL has no excuse for being that bad...
if mullen has that much of a relationship with koenning, let him take some other position but go hire an OC that will challenge you instead of cupping your balls...and wilson is torbush, just younger...make the change!!

No quicker way to the hot seat than losing the Egg Bowl. He may not know it yet, but his seat got warm last night. Can't lose that game.
Jesus guys, did you all suddenly forget the 2001-2008 seasons, because I sure as hell didn't, and I would very greatly like it if history didn't repeat itself.
Just because it's getting closer to December 21 does not mean the world is ending, should we lose one egg bowl.

Losing the Egg Bowl is one thing. Getting demolished 41-17 until a garbage time is quite another. Couple that with the fact that in our 4 games against teams that weren't brain-dead, we weren't competitive and you see why Dan Mullen's era of the free pass is OVER.

I was at the game. Also a life time State fan, unfortunately. I honestly don't think it's Mullen's fault. Nor, am I even close to considering him on the hot seat.
The defense is shit. That's not debatable.
But, the path he's on for winning seasons. I don't care what you guys say. A winning season is a winning season, is a winning season. Record books don't give a shit about strength of schedule, and neither do the bowls. 8 wins is 8 wins.
Statues get erected of people that continuously string together winning seasons, and very few have a National Championship in as many as 30 years of coaching. Even fewer have more than One.
Have you guys seriously forgotten where we came from? I distinctly remember getting beaten by Maine(FCS), Troy(the first year they were FBS) and being repeatedly raped by Houston. Are y'all not thankful that those days are over? Because I sure as hell am.
You see it's right here on Troy's wiki: http://en.wikipedia....rojans_football
Troy's fIrst victory over BCS level program.

So basically, as long as we schedule 3 Sun Belt teams, a SWAC team, beat Kentucky, and beat Ole Miss when the game is at home, MULLEN FOR LIFE.
Well then you'd better enjoy this bowl game because next year is gonna be brutal

I have no reason to expect anything better. But, if nothing else, I have learned the value of a winning season.
I was in the stands when Scott Westerfield kicked the winning field goal over Arkansas to secure the SEC West championship, and I was in Atlanta the next year to watch State cap a 10-2 season. Hell, we lost to OM in our 10-2 year.
In my astute observation, the only difference is a few bounces/calls going our way and a better place kicker. I dare say it was coaching or talent. For god sakes, we had Joe Lee Dunn, defensive coordinator that couldn't cut it at Memphis.
Though I would take 'Ol Joe Lee over what we have now.

the way we have looked against average to superior teams is what the problem is...we looked like shiz in every loss, complete and utter shiz...and we pretty much give up EVERY TIME we get down by more than 7 points...that goes from coaches all the way down to the fans...mullen has to make changes, pure and simple...

Considering that the opponents we lost to, outside of OM, are a combined 31-5 (3 of 5 losses against each other, other 2 losses both coming to Florida) it's not all that surprising that we got blown out in those games. We usually do. This year isn't a huge aberration.

Ole Miss didn't get blown out by them and they barely have enough scholarship players. I can't stand these excuses and complacency. This attitude is why Mississippi State had been so bad for so long.
