Who do you got Vols fans?

The names thrown out that seem the most likely so far to me are:

Charlie Strong: Defensive mind with a good season as HC at Louisville and Florida recruiting ties.  I would be surprised if he isn't the first call.

Al Golden: Did an amazing job rebuilding Temple from a team kicked out of the BigEast to a 9 win bowl team.  Hasn't won much at NCAA Sanction plagued Miami though.  Overall career record will scare many fans.  I think he could be good, but after swinging and missing with one longshot HC can we afford another?

Gary Patterson: Was apparently interested way back during Coachin' Search 1, but Hamilton insulted him.  Would a new regime respark his interest? how does TCU being a big boy now change his mind?  has he already signed a secret deal with Arkansas?

Jon Gruden: I say 5% chance.  Would 100 crazy crackpots on VN actually have credible sources that know about secret negotiations that seemingly started in early October?  Sure maybe the governor is a VN poster but I doubt it.

Butch Jones: Has done pretty well at Cincinnati, wouldn't be a home run hire but not terrible either

Other Crazy names:
Peterson: not leaving Boise except maybe for USC once the santions are over and Lane is fired
Mora: West coast guy, think he stays at UCLA.
Shaw: would be a down grade for him at this point
Taggart: Has the makings of a good coach, but too soon for this job at this time.
Cutcliffe: Time to quit living in the past, plus I think he likes the low pressure at Duke.
Dykes: If he coached anywhere else I think he might get a look, but not Louisiana Tech.

1.Gruden, although I would make him say no before going another direction
2. Patterson, would be the other home run hire. I don't think he would leave, but who knows when money talks.
3.Charlie Strong, would be a solid hire, a bit risky because he hasn't fine such at Louisville.
4.Dan Mullins, would be worth the phone call.
5.Al Golden, people would roit over him. But he is a solid choice. Nobody could win at Miami right now.

Gundy is interesting, too. He's done arguably better than Les Miles and is, like Miles, a guy that the players seem to respect.

I'd quit football, or at least UT football, seriously.

I wouldn't be too sure, there were Gruden rumors since Fulmer started to get in trouble in 2005.

Interesting comment from Wes Rucker, who is pretty well connected in the AD, said: "A lot of people in the AD would be shocked if they did not get Gruden."  That is quite intriguing if people that close to the decision feel that way.
I guess the other possibility is that Derek Dooley was Wes' source inside the program and he is now just making stuff up.  Who knows?

You guys should get James Franklin. Stop day dreaming about coaches who yall won't get and go after someone who has proven he can win with less then stellar athletes.

We're not LSU we aren't taking Vandy's sloppy seconds.  :)  Seriously though, I don't think either parties are interested.

Say what you will, But give Franklin some 4 star prospects and he could do some damage. And hes young so you will have him for awhile if you treat him right. All you guys want is some old dried up coot.

I don't think any of the names that are being thrown out right now are very old at all.

I just don't see the fan base getting behind Franklin, the AD making it happen or Franklin taking the job.  It would be hilarious to see the Hogan melt down though.
