I'd gladly take Franklin over some of the names being mentioned to UT.  Gruden, Petersen, and Patterson are all long-shots for us. Most of the second tier guys come with considerable risk like Strong and Al Golden.  Bobby Petrino is a wild card who would have to be considered first tier as long as his contract included an incredibly tight conduct clause. I'd put Franklin at the top of the second group.  The guy is young, he motivates, and he can obviously recruit.  Great coach and Vandy is lucky to have him.

Too many of uT fans are getting sucked into this Gruden mania.

A slam dunk hire for Tennessee would be Charlie Strong. And I couldn't hate him because I like Strong.

Wait until next Monday and you can congratulate him on getting the Arkansas job.

I've seen some of the info your rivals guys have and it is WAY off. Besides, we can pay more than you.

I've seen the Gurdenville thing that Hogville has done.  Hats off.  I didn't think anyone could top VN, but I was wrong.  Bravo! Bravo!

Maybe, I doubt it, but maybe.  Even if the facilities Vandy are going to build were to Franklin's specs, they still wouldn't be anywhere nearly as good as he'd have in Fayetteville.  Not to mention the fanbase.  I'm not saying I want him, I don't, but we could do worse.

Why not?  It may be a long-shot, but if what if Bama had not bothered to ask Saban?  We ALL initially took Saban's word that he had no interest.  A couple of his ESPN mates have said that he does have interest in us.  He name would certainly excite the fan base and probably recruits as well.

Vanderbilt has already said they will do what it takes to keep Franklin

vandy has had some really improved years. Franklin has it going in right direction. recruiting is picking up. I would stay & become the "Bear Bryant" of vandy.

All indications are that this is his intention.
