If you hadn't left the BigXII you almost certainly would be ranked #1 right now with just a crappy Texas team to beat.  And your opponent in the NCG would most likely be an undefeated Alabama team.  So was getting out of Texas' shadow worth losing your best chance at a National Championship since FDR was president?

We have had at least three teams that should have gone all the way.  One lost to USL, one collapsed (pre-season top 5, but the new DC was afraid to blitz), and the last one couldn't finish taking a dump properly (pre-season top 10, you saw the rest last year).  In the SEC, we get to pull some of the top Texas talent away from Texas and Ou.  Yes we have to share some with the rest of the SEC, but we also get access to Louisiana, Mississippi, and other SEC states.  I would think that this year shows that we had the talent to complete, just not the coaching.  We are already pulling in talent upgrades across the board.

Are we just the dragon slayer or another dragon that has been slumbering?  We will know in about 4 years.  Maybe sooner.

Dunno, but I do know aTm is the hottest team in the SEC right now.

Aggies love our country, respect military service, treat our own as family (even if some of them are embarassing), and have a core set of values we stick too even if outsiders think it is dumb.

Kinda sounds like the SEC.

B12 has some awesome institutions, but few things in common. That crap rarely works in the long term.

I'm glad to be here..

BTW I think the problem with the Sherman teams was conditioning. Play calling was never a problem in the first halves. The teams just werent in shape to perform in the second.

All I know is congrats to A&M on such a great season.  The players and fans have got to be super proud of the team this year.

Keep talking that shit now.  You will be eating your words very soon.  Sumlin, Kingsbury, and Johnny Football are taking over the SEC.  And we will all remember who was running their mouths.  And we will not be nice about it.  I hope you enjoyed your time at the top.  Its coming to an end.  The Aggies are going to clean house.  We are going to make Saban retire.  We will get Miles fired.  And we will be laughing in your face the whole time.  I promise.  Hahahahahahahahahahaah

this is a texas fan trying to make aggie fans look bad, id bet money on it.

A&M has never proven that they can win consistently without cheating, so A&M certainly doesn't have history on its side.
I just wanted to dig this up so Aggy could see it again.

I wish I'd spent some time in my 20's tallying down a decade's worth of win/loss records of programs whose fan bases say things like "This is a new era for us" or "We're going in the right direction" or "We have great facilities."  Perennial second tier programs who can't win consistently with teams comprising of eligible players.
