Some quick thoughts after I watched the second half of the Bama game over again (the first half is something I hope to never see again...)

It's pretty clear Grant sent a message to the team during the break. At the beginning of the second half, we came out with a great sense of intensity and enthusiasm. Nobody on the bench was sitting down. We immediately rushed out on a 7-0 run, ignited by the three-point attack from Trevor Lacey and some points off turnovers. The run ultimately changed an 11-point deficit to a 4-point lead for the good guys. This marks the second game in a row in which a strong start out of the gates to begin the half has completely given us momentum. Our coaches seem to be making the right adjustments, and we FINALLY have an offense that is capable of burning defenses from the outside, which is something we haven't had with regularity in at least two or three years. As bad as we looked in the first half, it's very nice to see us put together two games in a row in which we explode for a big run offensively to change the course of the game.

Lacey has emerged into our top offensive threat, at least outside of a healthy Trevor Releford. I knew Lacey had that stuff for us, but he finally is showing the assertion that we needed from him. Especially with Releford out/not 100% the last two games, that performance is big for us. That's why he got the shot with the game on the line.

The other guy that I want to mention is Andrew Steele. Steele is not going to be the flashiest of players and he'll rarely give us a 10 + point night, but when the game is on the line he is absolutely clutch. The real veteran presence of the team. His lock-down defense single-handedly made Tennessee quit last week in the final minutes, and then tonight when our offense was in a bind in the final minute, he drives to the basket (with 4 fouls) and picks up the basket + one to give us the lead. I have a lot of respect that this guy has stuck it out for us and he seems to be a hybrid player/coach type of presence when he's on the floor.

This is a big win for 'Bama...a big win for a few reasons. Firstly, we played HORRIBLE in the first half and the Aggie D also broke our momentum midway through the second...Releford was still not 100% ( though he played with the heart of a lion, including a few big forced turnovers in the end - namely the game-clincher) ... despite this adversity, we found a way to win. Secondly, it's one of the few games in this watered-down SEC schedule that you can legitimately call a "quality" win. A&M was a top 50 RPI team heading into tonight, so we needed this in a bad way.

We still have a ways to go before we re-enter the NCAA Tournament discussion, but make no mistake...we ain't out of it yet. RTR.

That was one of my favorite games Ive been to as a student. Even though we were in control for the majority of the game, our crowd was really going wild the whole time, especially with all the dunks and the little pissing match in the second half. Not too sure what happened to cause that though. Its was Donovan's 400th win and I heard it was the 10th largest crowd to ever see a game at the O-Dome

Jakovic was being a dick. You could see it on TV.
It wasn't any of their other players, or even any of ours.

Well the Cats are still showing the need for improvement but at least we lead at the half down at Auburn.  Wiltjer is definitely improving thanks to the extra workouts he's been putting in.  I thought before the game that we'd lose but Kyle would have a good game.  I'd be happy to be wrong about dropping the game.

I actually switched my pick to Auburn at the last second. I was thinking the same thing.
UK showing the improvement we expected, even if a little late.

Noel is just a freakin beast. His all around game has carried this team in many games. As soon as the rest of our guys catch up with Noels progress we'll be a final four team.

Of course, I'm still mad that the Ole Miss player wasn't ejected with a flagrant 2 for throwing rainmakers at Marshawn Powell.

Our record may say 3-1/12-5 but it sure doesn't feel like it.  Auburn's not a bad squad so I was happy to see us finally put our foot on a team's throat on their homecourt.  Tuesday night in T-town is gonna be a much tougher test as aTm found out yesterday.

Ya something is not right when that cheap shot warrants the same punishment for pulling a jersey.

We are all walking on thin ice thanks to the hot mess the conference is now.
Gators literally can't afford a loss to anyone except Missouri, Kentucky, or Ole Miss or we will get bumped down a few seeding notches.

Bama needs to get off the bubble tonight. Please.

A win over Kentucky and we are right back in the thick of things. It's almost a must-win for us. We only have three chances at a real "quality" conference win for the rest of the regular season...vs UK, @ UF and @ OM. With Kentucky being the only one of those three at home, it's very important.

I expect Coleman to be rocking...just hope we can put together a great game.

I didn't realize how serious Kentucky's situation is.

They only have two wins over teams with winning records:
No.66 Maryland
No.102 Tennessee

Bama is only No.59 right now.
