Story on the news this morning said the law becomes official in Washington state today and Colorado is still pending. What got me was in Washington, it still illegal to buy pot, and to grow it. So you can still get locked up for that. Also it's still illegal to drive under the influence (obviously) and its still a federal crime to smoke pot.
So basically, you can smoke poi, but you can get locked up for buying, selling, growing your own, and can face federal charges.

From what I understand, within the year they are going to have state run stores that will sell it. So I guess its going to be illegal to buy it on the black market, where it can't be taxed.
