Political Science major...well, that explains it.  As far as the Republican party...as a registered independent...I can agree that the Republican party has issues...the #1 issue being blaming the loss on failed policies....policy didn't lose the election...Romney playing prevent defense and a hurricane lost it...but Romney just had some bad luck...had Hurricane Sandy turned east...Mitt is the 45th President.

Oh yea...as far as Murdouch and Akin, I didn't even know who the hell they were prior to their famous gaffes... I think both of 'em are freaking fools and deserved to get their asses whipped.

The Democrats are the ones that should be worried...it's looking like Obama still has no intentions of compromising...so, we're looking at an even bigger recession...unemployment rates will likely hit double digits again...and will likely have a $20 trillion deficit by 2016...not only will Republicans own the White House, they'll own Congress and the Senate.
Prediction: I predict that Obama will allow us to go over the fiscal cliff. He will do this to prove a point, selfish though that may be. Because Boehnner and company refuse to let the Bush/Obama tax cuts expire, Obama will let that most awful occurrence happen so that he can get the public mad as hell, and he will point his finger at the HoR, which us Republican-led, and get the American public to blame him.

I can't much speculate on 2016 yet. One thing I learned during my time as a poly sci major, is that the American voter can be a truly strange creature, that will defy predictions from time to time.

I agree...this past Tuesday, BHO learned that he can pretty-much get away with murder...blame the Republicans...and everything would be okay.  Problem is...many economists...as well as former Pres. Bill Clinton agree that raising anyone's taxes right now would be a huge mistake.  It's crazy, how many years have democrats used taxing the rich as a talking point??  So...now, Obama thinks that since he said it a few 1000 times over the past 4 years...it's now a mandate...lol.

Problem for the republicans...the mainstream media will do exactly what Obama wants...if he refuses to work with Boehner, who I've heard just wants him to increase the $250,000 to Barry's original number of $1 million...the media will demonize republicans.

Fixed.

Sandy helped by eliminating any chance of Obama doing something wrong in the last week, but Sandy isn't the reason the voters were only 72% white.   It isn't the reason Latinos voted 71% for Obama.   It isn't the reason even more young voters came out than in 2008.   The Obama campaign team was >>>>>>>>>>>> than the Romney team.   They got out their vote and the Romney team didn't. Would have been the same story without the storm.

I came back into this thread to mention one thing about the Latino vote though.   A lot of us, myself included, have mentioned Latinos being socially conservative.   That's certainly been true in the past, but exit polls this year showed that 66% of Latino voters are pro-choice.   I was pretty surprised by that number. Cubans are still conservative, but other groups don't seem to be.   For instance, there was talk on Tuesday night how many Puerto Ricans are now living in the I-4 corridor in Florida.   They were the difference in giving Florida to OBama this year.

Here we go again.....Blame Bush.

You people really astound me. Bush hasn't been in office for over four (4) years now and yet, you're still blaming him? Pathetic.

When will Obama take responsibility for ANYTHING? Is he going to accept responsibility for GM filing for bankruptcy again?

Coming from you, that's a compliment.

Typical liberal fashion. Argue the person and not the issue. You liberals have mastered that into an art.

Blame, blame, blame. Obama is and always will be the "Food Stamp President". The only reason he won is because they're more deadbeat parasitic blobs of human protoplasm than working class people that take care of themselves without govermental help.

I can say this though. The following man is starting to look like a prophet.

You claim that I'm blaming Bush because the guy that got elected post the biggest global economic collapse since the Great Depression is getting hammered for not cleaning it up fast enough? Sure buddy. It's not about blame, it's about realizing that things are almost always easier to destroy than they are to fix. Your crowd says he failed, yet America realized its going to take longer than 1 term to fix things, especially when the GOP has done everything they can to stop him. BTW, your math is crap. Barry hasn't been in office for 4 years yet.

We still would have won without the hurricane. The fact that Romney and Ryan both wanted to cut FEMA budgets only delivered us 1 or 2 more states.

And since you mentioned Latinos, I hope the morons running the GOP see that they can't keep winning the vote by running up the score with old white men. 92% of registered republicans are white. If that figure doesn't change and the party platform doesn't change to incorporate the needs of all Americans, expect the party to keep losing.
