Man crush is the best way to put it, he was a hugger and people like that get to you. Clearly a very cool dude who everyone got along with, but business is sadly business at times.

I'm excited about the season at this point. I wanna see Simmons finally healthy and ready to go, but I'm going to have to claim one of the Uptons for the AV. I'll take Justin if someone already has BJ.

Unless I missed something also, Teheran has that 5th spot wrapped up until Beachy comes back. Even then Beachy may pitch out of the BP for a little while, but we've got some guys who really need to step up. With all the strikeouts up and down the lineup, I'm interested to see our approach at the plate with all this power/speed.

Well since you didn't name one of the its up in the air.

I call Justin Upton's avatar for myself.  @StallingsBaldSpot, you can have B.J.

DID YOU HEAR THAT YA'LL?  IF YOU TAKE MY AVATAR, I WILL COME FIND YOU.

Sorry bro.

hate to see prado go but the heyward, upton and upton law firm do have a chance to be very good for us...we'll see what happens with pitching and some potential new power in the line up...

Alright, I'll take my boy that I had last year.  I LOVE SPORTING MY MAN TIMMY.

If anyone takes Hudson without my permission, I will view it as a Class A felony and you will die.

Since no one guessed,

Player A is Martin Prado.

Player B is our newly-acquired third baseman Chris Johnson.

Johnson was actually among the best in the NL in hitting with RISP last year, and also put up a really good RISP line in 2010.

Watching video highlights of him on mlb.com, he does a great job at going to the opposite field when pitchers are throwing him away. Very similar to how Prado always does.

I'm not saying he's as good as Prado, but I also think he could be more of an asset to the offense than what people are thinking. I see him as a very solid 7/8 hitter in the lineup who can hit .280 +. If that kind of offense comes from our supposedly "weakest" position, I think our offense is in pretty darn good shape.

So with the Upton excitement starting to fade, here's a stat line for this week:

Kris Medlen and Greg Maddux's age 26 seasons:
Medlen - 10-1,  1.57 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, 1.5 BB/9, 7.8 K/9
Maddux - 20-11, 2.18 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, 2.4 BB/9, 6.7 K/9
I kept failing a math test at the University of Alabama because every time I added 5+3 I got 8 and they kept insisting that the right answer was 14.

Kimbrels stat line last year still gives me wood.

When I think about Medlen pitching 7 innings and O'Flaherty and Kimbrel finishing the game I have to buy new pants. I know that feel bro!
