I also can't blame Ross, that just stings though. Maybe we'll see Bethancourt back up McCann this year and be eased into the position. If he shows out, may make our decision on McCann easier.
/sigh
I said I wouldn't care about Braves baseball until late Jan...damnit. IT WASN'T AN IN FIELD FLY.

Well, the Marlins are no longer an MLB team... Them and the Astros should just play each other 162 times next year so that it's fair.
I kept failing a math test at the University of Alabama because every time I added 5+3 I got 8 and they kept insisting that the right answer was 14.

Yeh, that was some crazy stuff. Too bad we couldn't pick up Stanton for a bag of sunflower seeds.
According to MLBTR, we are interested in Cody Ross. Mark Bowman says our top FA target is now BJ Upton. Torii Hunter off the market (didn't want him anyways).

Their owner has committed highway robbery. The city built them a brand new stadium and they'll collect $55 million in the luxury tax because of their low payroll. It's
ing blasphemy. Jeffrey Laria should be kicked in the nuts.

Yeah, I really don't want Cody Ross... He is mediocre at best and subpar at worst. If he's on his A game he's a .265 hitter with low-20's HR's and that's not what we need IMO. I'd love BJ (doesn't everyone love a good BJ?) if we can get a multi-year deal for the right price... He's got proven 30/30 talent and a change of scenery might help him hit for a higher average than he's been hitting in Tampa lately.
If we could trade for Denard Span and sign BJ Upton I think we'll have an excellent team heading into 2013.

Oh I agree, there was a story a few years ago about how the Marlins had been lying about their profits for years while they convinced the government, aka the taxpayers, to pay for their stadium instead of paying for it themselves and I was shocked at how little publicity the story got. ESPN should have been talking about something that lowdown and scummy every single day. When they started trading for all the players to open up the stadium I didn't think they'd last a single season and it looks like I wasn't far off...
It's not fair to Miami. Loria ought to be in jail because he straight up stole from the taxpayers. His justification?

So we signed a new backup catcher...

I can't think of anything interesting except that he sorta looks like Fredi Gonzalez's crazy, long-lost brother.

Why? Just let Bethancourt grow into the position...makes me think he won't stay there.
