Maybe we will have a decent crowd there, I only get to go to a braves game once  a year

Ive been to the last 3 home openers. They are always sold out with a crowd of 55k+

Two 1st rounders and the best middle relief pitcher in baseball the last two years would be hard to turn down for a team like the Dbacks.who desperately need arms

Two questions...

ARIZ gets: Julio Teheran, Eric O'Flaherty, Juan Francisco and Sean Gilmartin

ATL gets: Justin Upton

1. Would you do this trade?
2. Do you think ARIZ would accept it?
A person would be stupid not to. But like '27 said, its ATL.
Bringing Kimbrel in to close is like unleashing

True, they do need some good relief arms. I don't think both our 1st rounders pan out, but it would be our luck they would.

Having both Uptons could be a historic era, especially with the talent around them.

I think we could even get away with giving them Spruill instead of Gilmartin in the same package.

Replace Teheran with Delgado.

I like Teheran more.it would also suck losing Juan...it means no more "Juan" jokes

I'd start with Delgado, Gilmartin and Salcedo...then see how intrigued they are. The aforementioned package is the absolute highest I'd go.

Wren says we haven't closed the door on Bourn.

I'd love to make it happen, but realistically I don't see there's any way it's possible. Especially if we only have around 9-10 mil left to spend.

His market has gone dry because with baseball's new FA conditions, any team that signs him would have to give up a draft pick.

This screws a lot of teams who don't want to give up a draft pick, but it could potentially work in our favor. What if we were able to bring Bourn back to a 1-year deal for about 10-11 mil, with a guarantee in his contract that a team wouldn't have to surrender a draft pick for him once he reaches free agency after 2013? It's not impossible..just unorthodox. But it's already been suggested by baseball writers like Keith Law.

Fact is, nobody really wants to give Bourn the money long-term he wants right now. Especially if it means losing a draft pick.

Interesting on Bourn, didn't know about the draft pick scenario, makes sense that's why he's still out there. He would be a huge re-addition, but I don't' see him having the same kind of year he had last season. Maybe that's my skeptical Bravos side, but I also hate to pay him so much just for one season. I have every reason to believe we CAN make a run, but we're missing some leadership this season, so I hope some guys will be stepping up in a big way.

Very true, with no Chipper and Ross, we are a lot younger and without as many vocal leaders. I'm sure Huddy is the alpha dog of the clubhouse now. Uggla probably needs to step up and take that role himself, too.

that'd be straight-up stupid. Bourn is elite defensively. Upton is solid, but nowhere near the defensive CFer that Bourn is.
