We need a LF. He doesn't have to be a lead off guy but I don't like Juan starting at 3B and I don't like Reed being an every day LF

Heard we made a very strong push at Choo. At least we are still pursuing guys and not standing pat.

I'm really starting to get worried the longer this pushes on.  We are going to have to settle for someone.

DOB said something that at least gives me a glimmer of hope.

David O'Brien@ajcbraves
#Braves are still involved in multiple trade talks, two of their targets believed to be Bonifacio and Fowler

Fowler has been towards the top of my list for a few weeks now. I get people are skeptical about his home/away splits but even his road OBP would have been good enough for the third highest on our team last year. If the Rocks could just come down on the asking price a bit, I would like to see us get him in a Braves uniform. He'd be an ideal addition for LF.

Bonifacio wouldn't really excite me a WHOLE lot ...but he'd be better than a Francisco/Johnson platoon, and much better than most of the options still left out there. He's sort of line an Omar Infante. He'd give us a lot of flexibility and some more speed.

I just hope we don't sign Cody Ross to a three-year deal out of desparation. Somebody will overpay for that guy, guarantee it.

I like Fowler.  He's the best fit option available.

Agree @GoldenRebel , Fowler isn't an All-Star but he'd give us what we need. A cheap, non-rental who plays solid defense, decent OBP and has improved with the bat over each of the last three seasons.

One other thing I like about the idea of Fowler is that he's a switch-hitter (and one that has nearly identical numbers from both sides). Would give us great flexibility with the batting order and tremendous balance. 3 lefties, 4 righties and a switch-hitter.

With the Angels getting Josh Hamilton, we could possibly get Peter Bourjos for Delgado or Teheran straight up. I know the Angels prefer an ace guy like Dickey, but Teheran or Delgado could be future aces for way cheaper, money-wise.

We won't have to stack the box, our athletes are better. Read the first sentence, Auburn won't have over 175. Bet anything you want, it's not gonna happen. That's the one thing Bama can do without a doubt 100% mark it down, and have been for years.

If you're going to bet, it will be longer than signing day. This is a rivalry that lasts 365 days, you would have to at least keep it until next football season or this isn't even worth mentioning. Besides, Bama could be winning late in the game and the scrubs get the 200.
Either way, it won't be happening to Bama's defense.

Bourjos would give us MLB's best outfield defense. Not sure if I could stomach the .230 BA and .300 OBP though.

Yeah Bourjos definitely wouldn't be the hitter that Fowler would be, but he might be a more realistic option based on what the Angels might want for him vs. what the Rockies want for Fowler. Bourjos has shown moderate power in the minors and maps and he has shown the ability to hit for a decent average... If he could hit .270, hit 10 HR's, and steal 25 bases in addition to his amazing defense I think we'd be happy and that's basically what he did in 2011.

Wow...didn't realize Bourjos (.703) has a significantly better career OPS than Ben Revere (.642).

Yeah he's not a 1 HR a year kind of guy, I could see him hitting as many as 20 in his prime. I think Fowler has more power potential but Bourjos is like a Fowler Lite with better defense.
