Lets just sign Ichiro for a year. He can lead off, play good defense, has a great arm, and he's a future Hall of Famer. I go to a few games a year and if absolutely love to see Ichiro play in person. He bring in some extra revenue, he's still really popular in Japan so we could expand our market and fan base a little bit, and he'd fill our needs until we can get someone permanent.

I kept failing a math test at the University of Alabama because every time I added 5+3 I got 8 and they kept insisting that the right answer was 14.

Looks like the Phillies are making a push for Michael Young.
Its more IMPERATIVE THAN EVER NOW that we make a move of our own. The Nationals have upgraded and the Phillies are making upgrades and the Braves have been ho-hum all season long for the most part.
We need another OF right away and preferrably someone who can get one base. Justin Upton on line 1 please...

Guess we can count Alex Gordon out. Sigh. Royals no longer need pitching help.
I literally have no idea who we are going to get...if anyone.
I am starting to smell some sort of Francisco/Gattis/Georgie/Reed type of platoon.

Even if we don't add anybody else, we have a good team, guys. We made the big CF move that we needed to make. We still have a pretty fearsome lineup without trading for or signing anyone else.

We need a LF. He doesn't have to be a lead off guy but I don't like Juan starting at 3B and I don't like Reed being an every day LF

Heard we made a very strong push at Choo. At least we are still pursuing guys and not standing pat.

I'm really starting to get worried the longer this pushes on. We are going to have to settle for someone.

DOB said something that at least gives me a glimmer of hope.
David O'Brien@ajcbraves
#Braves are still involved in multiple trade talks, two of their targets believed to be Bonifacio and Fowler
Fowler has been towards the top of my list for a few weeks now. I get people are skeptical about his home/away splits but even his road OBP would have been good enough for the third highest on our team last year. If the Rocks could just come down on the asking price a bit, I would like to see us get him in a Braves uniform. He'd be an ideal addition for LF.
Bonifacio wouldn't really excite me a WHOLE lot ...but he'd be better than a Francisco/Johnson platoon, and much better than most of the options still left out there. He's sort of line an Omar Infante. He'd give us a lot of flexibility and some more speed.

I just hope we don't sign Cody Ross to a three-year deal out of desparation. Somebody will overpay for that guy, guarantee it.

I like Fowler. He's the best fit option available.

Agree @GoldenRebel , Fowler isn't an All-Star but he'd give us what we need. A cheap, non-rental who plays solid defense, decent OBP and has improved with the bat over each of the last three seasons.
One other thing I like about the idea of Fowler is that he's a switch-hitter (and one that has nearly identical numbers from both sides). Would give us great flexibility with the batting order and tremendous balance. 3 lefties, 4 righties and a switch-hitter.
