Getting this beast within the next few days. I sold my 250gb slim out of anger after playing the shitty NCAA 13 demo a few months ago, but I've decided I want to give it another shot because college football in real life sucked even more than that. Overall I think it looks pretty damn slick. I don't like the loading tray, however. It needs to fit within the confines of a 6" entertainment shelf and that really limits my ability to load discs in and out of it. I guess I'll have to pull the damn thing in and out every time I want to load a new disc in it, but usually I only play one game for months at a time, so that's not really a major concern.

It comes with Assassin's Creed 3, but I never liked those games so I'll probably sell it brand new for $60, which makes this thing around $240 if I'm not mistaken. I'll grab NCAA 13 for $30 and Bad Company 2 for $10. Might get NBA2K or Madden depending on NCAA's gameplay. Any other games to consider? Great value at $240 seeing as this machine will store like 450 blu rays. But I haven't played a game in nearly a year now, real excited. The machine is really small/light. I think the exterior looks badass.

I've got the original PS3 (the real chunky, heavy one) with the middle of the road GB, if I recall correctly, but have had my eye on this new release for if old faithful gives out.

Then again, I had heard that a new PS system was coming out soon; you know anything about that @THE_KRIEG?

Wow, on second thought, I might try Assassin's Creed III. This game looks pretty quality. I'll have to wait for gameplay footage. I'm just hesitant because I didn't like the first two. I like open world games where I am solely in charge. I don't like a game telling me where to go and what to do. Fawk that.

No idea man, but it wouldn't surprise me. Consoles definitely need to take the next step seeing as how PC has vastly superior graphics. I can't believe you still have the first gen of PS3 haha, I thought all of those got the "yellow light of death".

lol, Well, not to jinx it, but I thought it would take that route too, but it hasn't yet!

I mainly use mine these days for Netflix and the SEC thing right below Netflix. In terms of games, when I have time it's usually NCAA '13, hopped back on the Madden train this year, BF3, and Skyrim.

Is SECDN on PS3 good quality? We have netflix, but I think netflix sucks. Gf always wants to watch netflix but I hate scrolling through thousands of movies and shows that suck shit.

I still have the original chunky PS3 with the 160 GB. I had to ship it to Sony cause a power outage fried the ing thing. I got it back the week after i shipped it and it works good as new now.

I still have mine, and my friend still has his, we both pre ordered them. The failure rate for those PS3 systems was .2% if I remember correctly. It's by far the best hardware ps has put in any of their systems, I'm never getting rid of mine. Also, all my friends that have had Xbox360s have had to send them back at least once usually 2-5 times.

edit: there are rumors of ps4 but I think it comes down to how much better can they make games at this point? I feel like with PS3 they hit a technology wall for the amount of money people are willing to pay for a system.

Never got the 360, but I had the original xbox and had to send that piece of shit in twice. Never again. Microsoft hardware sucks my ass.

I've got a PS3, but all I ever play are NCAAF and Tiger Woods.  Recently played through God of War I and II. I have my buddies copy of III sitting here, just haven't bothered to start it.
