Something to consider about Patterson: his wife is from Fort Worth, and their charity, The Gary Patterson Foundation, is located in Fort Worth as well.  His wife is heavily involved in charitable work helping disadvantaged children.  And like eastcoastrazorback said, now that TCU is in a BCS conference and on level ground, don't expect him to leave for any place, let alone one with disadvantages like Arkansas.

I'm sure he'd probably want the job; but one thing that hasn't been talked about much concerning Strong is his fierce loyalty.

He waited years for a HC offer to come his way; and I'm quite certain that while he'll consider any offers that come his way, he's probably also going to give UL every opportunity to retain his services with matching offers just out of appreciation for them giving him his first shot.

I think ultimately UAr can get him, if that's who they pursue; but it'll probably not be easy.

well, supposedly, we have a shitton of money to throw around. long has said hes willing to dish out the highest salary in the country.

patterson is making a little under $3 mil, but we could give him a considerable raise. im unsure of his buyout and i doubt an extra $1-$2 million is going to send him packing.

i feel like strong is ours if we want him. i cant imagine hes thrilled to be playing in the big east, and geographically hes playing 3rd of  4th fiddle when it comes to recruiting in a basketball area.

i dont understand butch davis. the guy has won a few games and plays sound defense, but he just screams 'MEEEEH'. we say we want a home-run hire and then we go after a slightly better than average acc-retread? no thanks.

...who is John Galt?

Other big schools have gone after Patterson before. He's not leaving TCU. Especially now that they're in the Big 12. Arkansas would be a lateral move, at best.

Sadly I agree. Only reason he'd leave is if he wanted more money and to coach in the SEC, but I'd imagine he'd rather chase a NC where he's at now, now that he realistically can.

If we hired Butch I'd like to see him hire Randy Shannon as DC.

If you hired Butch you'd basically be on probation from the moment he stepped foot on campus.

Except that he was cleared of all wrong doing and his recently released phone records support those findings.  I'm not saying he is or isn't the right guy for our job, but I don't think he's dirty.

I'm not fascinated with Davis, I'm not really fascinated with any realistic hire.  We had an amazing coach that will be a hard act to follow.  Jeff Long should have kept his mouth shut and waited for the Sandusky verdict and then quietly say BP is suspended for four games.  Instead he let the media make his decision for him.  Now all of the people that were praising his decision are getting in on the fun of kicking the $h!t out of us while we're down.  Without an absolute home run hire that I don't think Long is capable of making this is a 6-10 year rebuilding process.

Petrino will work again and he will be very successful wherever he lands.  Some program that's not to stupid to flush a cash cow like BP down the toilet will take a chance and they will prosper.  Jessica Dorrell will :lanekiffin: her way into another good job.  All of the applicants that applied for Dorrell's job will be working, and NOT filing a lawsuit against us.   Who the hell files a lawsuit in a situation like that?  These people want to work they aren't going to make themselves unemployable at another program by filing suit against the U of A.

Some of our fans and media are to stupid to realize we aren't Bama, lsu, or UF.  We can't just plug and play with a different
coach and expect the same results.  I was as guilty as any fan thinking we'd win at least 9 this year, instead we will be losing at least 9 this year.  I'm so GD tired of watching people who are supposed to be smart making stupid :lanekiffin: ing decisions.  I have zero faith in Jeff Long.

It wouldn't surprise me a bit.  Welcome to amateur hour with your host Jeff Long.  The more I think about it the more I get pissed off.  It's one thing to lose and it's another to completely embarrass the $h!t out of the program the way JLS is doing.
