"I didn't come to Alabama to win 10 games a year and be a contender. I came here to win championships. Conference Championships and National Championships. I love it here because that's just not what I want, but what this fan base expects." --Alabama Head Football Coach, Nick Saban

“We who lived in concentration camps can remember the men who walked through the huts comforting others, giving away their last piece of bread. They may have been few in number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms -- to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.”

TCU is in the state of Texas and in a BCS conference. I'm not sure Arkansas wouldn't be a step down.

I don't know about you getting Gary Patterson, they absolutely love him at TCU. They have given him everything he has asked for, added on to the Stadium, re-modeled the facilities, money, etc...
Spoiler alert : Even though this is TCU's first year in the BIG12 and losing 18 or 19 players in the off season they are predicted to be 9-1 going into their off week. Everyone has t.u and OU on upset watch for this season. TCU has an open week Nov.17 then plays t.u in Austin (next to last game) on Nov 22 and the Last game against OU on Dec.1 in Ft.Worth. They really could be the Big12 spoiler and knock t.u or OU out of a spot. If Patterson knocks off t.u. or OU or both you better be ready to get out the big checkbook and write a huge frickin check to get him away from TCU because they will probably canonize him and declare him a Saint in Ft.Worth.
There is no downside to this guy, proven record, winner, got TCU into the Big12 and he is loved by Texas High Schools and their coaches and he recruits very well.

My son met him at a Cowboys game and said Gary was a nice guy and is happy where he's at.If TCU pays him appropriately I doubt he leaves. There's alot to do in that area outside of work and the school systems are top notch for any kids he may have.
To top it off,he's in a conference he has a real chance of winning outright and that could set him up for a NC run even though his schedule is weak.I don't look for him to be an option.
Good to hear from you though,Jack.

With TCU's move to the Big 12 there's no real reason to leave TCU for Arkansas at this point.
My best guess would be Charlie Strong or Butch Davis. If we hired Butch I'd like to see him hire Randy Shannon as DC.

There's been an awful lot of fire 'round here about ya'll going after Charlie Strong. Any insight into that? Surely ya'll are tired of ex-Louisville guys by now.

"Johnny, we're going to kick your ass today." -UK Coach Fran Curci to UT Coach Johnny Majors before Curci's last game.
Final score....UK 21 - UT 10

I've heard it. But it's all speculation at this point. Strong is from Arkansas, but that doesn't mean he wants to coach here
I'm sure he'd probably want the job; but one thing that hasn't been talked about much concerning Strong is his fierce loyalty.
He waited years for a HC offer to come his way; and I'm quite certain that while he'll consider any offers that come his way, he's probably also going to give UL every opportunity to retain his services with matching offers just out of appreciation for them giving him his first shot.
I think ultimately UAr can get him, if that's who they pursue; but it'll probably not be easy.
