TUSCALOOSA, Alabama -- Deon "D.J." Johnson, a star athlete at Spanish Fort High who committed to Alabama in April, was arrested Thursday on charges of second-degree rape and sodomy.

Johnson, 18, was booked at the Baldwin County Corrections Center at 8:43 p.m. on Thursday. According to the Baldwin County Sheriff's website, he has been released on $20,000 bond.

Johnson, a four-star prospect, caught a 60-yard touchdown pass and racked up 110 yards of offense in Spanish Fort's nationally televised win against Daphne on Monday.

He is ranked No. 9 on the al.com A-List of the state's top prospects. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Johnson caught 63 passes and had 19 touchdowns as a junior.

A female who answered the phone at Johnson's residence declined to comment.

I had one but decided to voice my outrage first. If i was that girls dad, this guy never walks again. I would be clipping him before he even gets to court.
