I don't want to keep arguments going, but the drill sergeant whipping the spoiled, lazy, arrogant recruits is an old as dirt war film cliche.

That's what I was thinking about when I posted

So you can't use the military as an example for doing something good? Transforming a young mans life from nothing to something?

You're something else
Its something great i agree. But to refer to anyone who serves as former punk or thug or whatever was said isnt called for. Furthermore i dont even know why you are arguing with me about it. @zartan and I spoke about it. The comment was in response to his post. I know he wasnt attacking the military. Why are you getting involved in it?

I get it, You and i already spoke on it. Not sure why he felt it neccessary to bring up and dispute about it with me.

I dont know from expierence but from what im told, and those who have served correct me if im wrong, but when you get to boot camp priority number 1 is to break you down until you feel your nothing, break all you old habits and ways of doing things, and then build you up the way they want you. Proud, disiplined, repectful, brave, and a warrior.

Hey dawg, do you think a Romney administration could get anything done in a bipartisan matter? (I realize this is not entirely up to him, but still)

Are you personally OK with occasionally going along with legislature you don't agree with for the sake of compromise and getting laws enacted, or do you want Romney to hold a hard line against all Liberal initiatives?

@zartan

I hear people talk about compromise a lot but I wasn't old enough to care about politics when Clinton was in office. I hear he worked across the aisle. What are some examples of working hand in hand with the opposition?

Yea i think its entirely possible. I think due to the nature of the campaigns now being so incredibly negative instead of speading their message and how, they spend lots more time putting the other down. The negativity i think drives a larger wedge between the parites and makes them seem radically left or right. I think with that mindset, that im conservative and they are radical left. then no, no way. But i would like to think because Romney hasnt always been in politics, hes had a very successful career elsewhere there is a chance he would take a good idea regardless of the origin.

I want Romney to hold a hard like against anything that could further dig us into a deeper hole. I dont care where the idea comes from, who says it. If it will help the country by creating jobs or lowering our debt or any of the many problems we have, who takes credit for it doesnt matter. We dont need another career politician whos been groomed to be against the other party. Those dont work. Willy was successful because he maintained the capacity to meet somewhat in the middle. Except respecting women,(i know off point). They are supposed to be a team that takes ideas from both sides to come up with the best plan. Do i think hope and pray Romney stands his ground? Hell yes but not against a specific person or party, against anything that will further hurt our economy, our people, or our country.

It's a public message board. If you don't want others commenting on it, you should have taken it to private message.
