AND, FWIW - Atlanta (where I am from) has LESS than 450,000 people, but the total metro population is just over 5 million (some say just over 6 million, it depend on what you define as "metro Atlanta"

he city is the center of a metropolitan statistical area of 767,598, the largest within the state.

Oh that makes a little more sense if you're talking about the metro area. I was thinking the city of Columbia itself.

GetEmGamecocks makes a good point. A lot of people in Columbia were probably at large viewing parties. Personally I was at a bar in 5 Points and it was packed out. I'm assuming most others were too.

Say what? There ain't 800,000 people in Richland County much less in the city of Columbia, SC. There are like 130,000+ people in Columbia...like 370,000+ in Richland County, according to Google. Then again I don't know what the "MSA" is unless you're talking about Parkinson's disease and such.

I would guess that a lot more folks in Columbia were watching the game at a party or at a buddy's house, so you'd have 15-20 people watching one TV instead of everyone chilling at home watching like everywhere else. That and watching the game at bars/bar&grill type places.

this is exactly what i was thinking lol. i think south carolina can get more people in front of 1 television in a house than bama people can in a trailer. i kid i kid :)
