That sucks. Hopefully it's not true, especially this close to the season starting.

And the Tide lost starting running back Eddie Lacy, who sprained an ankle and a knee “a little bit,” Saban said.
“Not a serious thing. Probably going to be day to day but probably be a little bit slow next week. I think in five to six days he’ll probably be ready to go.”

Yea, I thought the same thing but I'm assuming Saban has it on good authority that he'll be fine.

If so, LSU says "we're even". Back to top of west for them...
But definitely hope it's not, I would think we would know by now if that was the case.

I'll be honest, I don't think Lacy will be a deal breaker for Bama either way. He'll be a really good every down back, but realistically I'm not sure he's on Richardson or Ingram's level. I'm not sure anyone is for that matter, but we'll see a lot of guys getting snaps behind him.

You never can tell with Saban because he seems to be pretty secretive about what's going on with his team. Hopefully the reports are accurate and he'll be good to go after resting for about a week. I always look forward to seeing the good SEC backs do work during the season.
“We who lived in concentration camps can remember the men who walked through the huts comforting others, giving away their last piece of bread. They may have been few in number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms -- to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.”

I hope he isn't out. (not saying that it will happen, so CALM DOWN Tide fans) but if Ark beats Bama this year and he is out, I don't want to hear "It would have been different if we had Lacy" like I have heard, "It would be different if we had Lattimore" all year from the Yardbirds fans here in SC.

I think I'll go with the direct quote from Saban.
–Injuries: “Amari Cooper didn’t play today because he had a foot injury — not a bad thing. It’s probably going to be day to day when we start the week next week. It may be a few days before he can get back out there, but we don’t think that’s a serious thing.
“Eddie (Lacy) sprained his ankle and his knee a little bit — not a serious thing. Probably going to be day to day but probably be a little bit slow next week. I think in five to six days he’ll probably be ready to go. (Ryan) Kelly, the backup center, got a little ankle sprain but he should be ready to go the first part of the week next week. So that’s kind of where we’re at.
Probably a little more reliable than the AU rumor boards

even if we do beat bama without lacy, with the talent bama has at running back i doubt youd hear any bama fans using that excuse. at least not any ive seen on this forum.

Are you saying Ark will beat Bama? HUH?!?! ARE YOU!?!?!
But I don't think many true fans would use excuses. We all like Lacy, but he is not on the same level as the two studs we had previous to him. I am pretty sure we are going to use a stable approach, like LSU did last year, so losing one won't make such a drastic impact.
That all being said, I hope it's not a torn ACL. Not just for Bama's sake, but for the kid's sake. I never like seeing any players get hurt, and it'd definitely suck for him, this close to the season, after being a backup to two phenomenal running backs.

Glad to see it's nothing serious. Hate to see any of these kids get seriously hurt...
