Huh? We changed from a spread-option to a pro-style offense, regardless of who's calling it.

That requires different types of blocking as well as size and athleticism, which is why our entire OL bulked up to over 300 lbs. in the offseason. They had to be lighter, quicker, and a little more athletic in the spread.

It also requires a bigger, more durable TB, and we now have 4 ready to go. The primary questions for UF now are who will emerge at QB and WR? Because if those 2 positions are substandard, it makes running the ball extremely difficult.

We already know the OC can call plays; he put up 35 on y'all and beat you by 2 TD's, with a bunch of 2 and 3 star players... remember?

Unless you also signed Kellen Moore for a 6th year of eligibility, I don't see how you figure that means anything. But I see why you're optimistic; after all, former Boise coaches have done so well historically after leaving Boise.

You can spin it however you want, that's not the same offense. You're probably the only person that would try to make that leap.

What leap? The guy beat y'all's ass with a bunch of 2 and 3 star players... no spin necessary. You're probably the only person who thinks a guy suddenly can't coach when he's UPGRADED his personnel.

The QB's don't have Moore's experience yet, of course, but Pease isn't suddenly going to go brain-dead because of additional talent.

It's really funny to compare and contrast the happy talk from you guys now versus last year at this same time. You all said the exact same things about Charlie Weis.

No we didn't. We hoped Weis could do the same things with college kids that he did with pros, but he just couldn't... not with us nor with Notre Dame. Maybe he's learned something and will be successful with Kansas, but I'm not holding my breath.

Forget Florida for a moment, Saban and Bama pursued Pease too; so essentially it's your opinion that 2 programs who have won 4 National Championships this decade went after an OC who can't coach? Meanwhile, you still argue that a staff who hasn't won sh*t and has made an art form out of snatching defeat from the jaws of sure victory is top notch... c'mon, now, you're making this so easy I almost don't even need to respond.

Did Urban Meyer go after the guy? Otherwise, those two championships are irrelevant. Muschamp didn't win them.

Just because the last captain didn't sink the ship doesn't mean the current captain wont.

UGA is barking in the wind again.
You still have Richt, you don't have Isaiah.  You will not win the East.  Vastly overrated.
Florida is vastly underrated not so much because of the ranking but because of the preponderance of pundits who only see South Carolina and Georgia in the East.  I know it hurts, but the Gators are on the road to again become the Beast of the East.

I think Brissett will win the job, but as long as they settle on one they have a bright future at the position.

They need to settle on one and be done with it so the other once can transfer to USF.

They're all lining up to be butt buddies with Aaron Lynch.

This is going to be my favorite cocktail party victory ever.

It's still too early to even guess who the QB will be.
All the buzz during the summer was that Brissett would be starting, but the coaches aren't even with the players during the summer.
The last few days we've heard the same exact thing, that both of them are even.

I don't know who it will be, but I hope it's Driskel.

Brissett was definitely more poised in the pocket, but he was also more likely to take a sack and if he didn't see anything, he would just throw a toss up to a big group of players.

I like Driskel's smarts.  He's my  pick.

Kind of confused where all this talk about Driskel being so smart is coming from. I've met the kid just around campus, and while we didn't have any sort of intellectual conversation, I certainly didn't walk away thinking, "That Driskel kid is smart for a football player."

I thought Brissett looked better for the majority of last season. Granted, "better" is a very relative term because neither of them looked very good. Brissett seemed to actually have a stronger grasp of the offense, looked more mature in the pocket, and understand the game. Both had a ton of freshman mistakes, but I'm not one to so quickly praise Driskel as the next best thing. I'm for the QB that makes the fewest mental mistakes because our defense should be strong enough to keep us in games. I'm just not convinced that Driskel is all that smart like most seem to think.

You're lucky at QB. BJ Daniels has been there since 1956.
