We have exactly four (counting this one) prediction threads to go before we can finally put all this prognosticating and chest beating in the rearview and tee it up for the real thing, y'all.

Up today is the South Carolina Gamecocks, who came in 2nd in the SEC East last year, finishing with a 6-2 conference record, but they capped off a 10-2 season with a bowl victory to finish 11-2. The cocks lose star WR Alshon Jeffrey but return the SEC's best running back in Marcus Lattimore. Can the cocks navigate their '12 schedule with enough victories to claim the division title? Let's hear your thoughts.

I'm gonna catch a lot of flak for my 8-4 vote, but I'll explain why I went there -

- September is a fairly safe month for USCe, but the cocks have struggled before in openers, and being that this one is AT Vanderbilt where James Franklin has probably been juicing his boys up all Summer for this game, any sluggish start for the cocks could make that game interesting. On paper, Carolina should win fairly easily. But Vandy hasn't been the easiest road opponent since Franklin got there... not building them up much here, just saying in the first game of the season, they have a chance to pull an upset.

- October is brutal for Carolina. No way around it. Hosting Georgia, then going on the road to LSU and Florida and coming back home to play Tennessee. 2-2 would be a good result in October for Carolina.

- Arkansas comes to Columbia in November, and while I think Carolina should win this game, the Hogs have been the cocks kryptonite, so even without Bobby P, hard to call this one right now.

- AT Clemson.

My prediction is 10-2 and 6-2 in the SEC. I think South Carolina will win the East Division by beating Georgia on a tiebreaker.

I see 10-2 for the 'Cocks. best case, this team COULD run the table & be 12-0. Tough games against LSU, Arky, UGA, Clemson, UF, UT & Mizzou make that unlikely IMHO.

Worst case they could slip & be 8-4 with possible losses to the teams mentioned above. If they do drop 4 games, it would probably be UGA, LSU, Clemson & Arky, but I doubt that we see that big of a step back from USC.

No. We will and should be week 13. We won the East & were the runner up in the SEC.

Next week will be Bama, then us & then LSU. Cuz the Tigers won the conference. It's easier to win the MNC than it is to win the SEC, ask CSS...

There hasn't been one South Carolina fan here yet. I'm surprised. We'll see what they predict and then see if we are. I don't think USC will do any better than the 10-2 that I predicted. I think that Georgia, South Carolina, and Arkansas are all equal but I gave them the edge because they get both at home. I would not be surprised if South Carolina lost either of those games. Mizzou I think can hang in the game with USC but I don't think that they will be able to win it on the road.

I don't see a game on our schedule that we can't win, even at LSU. That being said we could lose one somewhere if we are not ready to play. Lou Holtz once said, that is the thing about playing in the SEC you have so many big games you have to be up for every week.
