I am offering a sig bet.  Vick Ballard will be drafted.  I bet it.  I don't take bets unless I am 95%+ sure.  You are essentially cheering for him to lose.  He's not flaming fast, but I never saw Vick Ballard get caught from behind in college.  Not once.

I'm not cheering for him to lose. I want him to do well and hope he does, which is why I won't take the bet. Because I don't even want to able to be perceived to be in the same class as the rest of you, which is being someone who cheers for MSU players and teams to lose so you can be right on the internet.

And you never saw him caught from behind in college. That may be true, but we aren't talking about college anymore. We are talking about the NFL... He is slow now.

I realize this, sir.  He's got just enough speed for the NFL.  He has many other intangibles that make up for his lack of explosive speed.

I don't particularly want to get involved in one of the KD Wars, as fun as they are to watch, but didn't you just offer to make a bet in the spring thread saying we wouldn't start 7-0 or win a certain amount of games?

Reasonable or not, isn't that doing exactly what you said you don't want to do?

While on the surface, you would seem correct. the proposed "bet" was more of a way to gauge whether the people who predict 11 win seasons and 7-0 starts actually believe what they spout off about. If push came to shove i wouldn't have taken a bet where I was on the side of being perceived as having to cheer for MSU to lose.

There is a difference between usually being right on the internet and hoping that MSU loses so that you can be right on the internet for a change. Pretty embarrassing for MSU fans for our fanbase to have to cheer against us just so they can be right 1 out of 100 times.

Why should I honor his bet when he won't take  me up on the Ballard getting drafted one?  I never thought we'd start 7-0 so I'm not going to take that bet.
