BATON ROUGE -- Starting pitcher Ryan Eades (5-1) allowed only two hits in 7 1/3 innings while Raph Rhymes went 3-for-4 to give the LSU baseball team a 7-1 victory over Alabama on Saturday night at Alex Box Stadium.

LSU (29-7, 11-4 SEC) extended its SEC Western Division lead to 2.5 games over Arkansas and will go for the series sweep of Alabama (13-22, 4-10) on Sunday. First pitch is set for noon CT on ESPN2.

Eades dominated, allowing one run on two hits with five strikeouts and four walks. Lefthander Brent Bonvillain entered with one out in the eighth and allowed a bases-loaded sacrifice fly before getting out of the inning with another fly ball out.

The Tigers scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the first Rhymes hit an RBI double down the leftfield line to score Tyler Hanover. Mason Katz, who was hit by a pitch, came around to score on a groundout by Ross.

In the bottom of the sixth, a two-out single by Tyler Moore plated Rhymes to push LSU's lead to 3-0.
