The Rays got screwed in the Price deal. They didn't get much in return.

This is easily one of the craziest trade deadlines ever.    Seems like the Rays could have received so much more for Price  (or at least the same type of haul this winter or even next July).

I don't hate the Red Sox trades but I don't love them either.   If they do manage to resign Lester (who definitely won't sign in Oakland) then today becomes a potential coup.   Cespedes fills a huge power need on the right side.  Craig was a stud before his injury.  He probably won't play much the rest of the year, so if he can get back to 100% that could be a steal as well.

I don't know that Kelly is any better than the prospects the Sox have, but he adds depth and makes future trades a lot easier.   Sox have so many future #3 starters in the minors, I'll bet they package a bunch of them to go after Cole Hamels or another premier starter this winter.

Hopefully this will be on Pedro Martinez's hall of fame plaque someday...

Am I the only one who doesnt get excited about a combined no hitter like ESPN is forcing down our throats? Im good with a true no hitter by 1 pitcher, but when 3 or more guys combine to no hit a club, I dont really get excited about that.

Royals are doing their best to piss away any shot of making the playoffs. Assholes.

Not gonna lie...I felt bad about the Sox winning that 4 game series, hah.

I'm a little conflicted who to root for at this point.  Royals would be a great story, but a buddy is a big Mariners fan.  They've certainly been through some brutal times as well.

Based on my experience, rooting for the Royals brings pain and sadness. Repeatedly. Always hope for the best, going to the game tonight and on Saturday, but I'm not that optimistic anymore. Hope we can hold it together to get that 2nd wild card, but I'll be surprised if we do.

Fox posted this article about a possible 4 team tie.   Count me as a fan of this scenario...
