Bush did alot wrong, but his judicial appointments have been fantastic. I certainly trust Romney's judgement over Barry's on SCOTUS appointments. And managing the economy. And fiscal and tax policy. And foreign policy. And pretty much on everything else...

Yeah... Citizens United was a great job by the SCOTUS. That will be right up there with Dred Scott in 100 years

I guess I don't know enough about this law to really comment intelligently on the law itself. I don't think Obama was saying that to intimidate the SC, I just think he was stating a fact that it is not a common occurrence for the SC to shoot down a law. Not that it doesn't happen, or that it shouldn't happen in this case, just not usual.

I mean for appointed officials to deny something that has been approved by the majority of our elected officials seems wrong.

Then again, I know very little about this law. I am probably going to do a little research...

It's only 2,700 pages, maybe you should read it. I mean, just because our representatives that rammed it down our throats didn't read it doesn't mean you can't!! :laugh:

Ha! Exactly. After I posted that I went and looked for it. All I could find were some mass-media articles about it. I'm sure I searched incorrectly, but after 3 google pages I gave up. Turns out, while it directly affects me, I am going to 'TRUST' that my elected official did what was in MY best interest...

If you don't like what Barry did, that's cool. However, he and most people are smart enough to know that you can't intimidate a Supreme Court judge. He's making a political move, nothing more. If anything, he's trying to look firmly behind it when Scalia finds a way to piss on it in his dissenting opinion

He really wasn't saying anything to the court; it was the speech equivalent of an open letter--he's pre-emptively spinning in case the SC rules against him.

And I absolutely agree. There's where everybody's problem is. We as a nation can't even come to terms with with each other because of bi-partisan politics.

I'll agree what he said was a political manuver however I will also submit the out come backfired on him epically. He did manage to draw the attention away from the rising gas prices though...
