I actually think Carrey and Sandler have pretty similar careers. Both started out making great stuff, then flooded the market with stuff that was hit or miss(usually miss).

I like them both in the same, as in I like their early stuff...and a couple of the later. There comes a point where it's obvious they do shitty movies only for the money and not the quality laughs. Hope this one is one of those quality laughs.

Exactly. It doesn't get much better than Billy Madison or Happy Gilmore. After that it kind of went downhill, but he still did some good ones. Same with Carrey. Ace Ventura(1 and 2 at least) were good, and Dumb and Dumber is still my favorite comedy.

I think everyone knows this has reached cult status, and I'm sure it still holds a special place in the hearts of those involved. That makes me pretty confident they won't release a movie that isn't of great quality.

2003 saw the release of prequel Dumb And Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd, but it did not feature the original stars. Farrelly emphasised: "We did not do Dumb And Dumberer. That was a studio thing.

"So we've always wanted to do a sequel and Jim called up. Jeff always wanted to do it. We always wanted to do it. Jim was busy, but he called and said, 'We've got to do this thing again'. He had just watched Dumb And Dumber and he said, 'This is the perfect sequel. Let's do it."

Farrelly will once again direct with his brother Bob, and Sean Anders and John Morris will write the screenplay.

I'll have to revise my statement that Jim Carey successfully didn't make 3 of the worst sequels ever (Dumb and Dumber, the Mask, and Bruce Almighty). Guess he needs some cash.
