FAYETTEVILLE -- The University of Arkansas football team held its second practice of the spring Thursday afternoon inside Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.Razorback head coach Bobby Petrino commented after practice that he was pleased with the way the defense has shown improvement in the two days of spring practice.

"I think we got better in the two days," Coach Petrino said. "There's no question that the defense came out today and ran to the football better, and did the little things better up front with their hands and getting off blocks. I thought the coaches did a great job of emphasizing that."

Coach Petrino was also impressed with the way the offense has come out looking sharp and focused.

"Offensively, our quarterbacks are throwing the ball well," Coach Petrino said. "I think we're doing a pretty good job of executing. It's hard to tell a whole lot in the run game when you're just in helmets and no pads. We'll know a lot more about the running game when we get the pads on."

The Razorback football players will have a break from classes and practice over the next week before resuming practice March 27. Practices on March 30, April 6 and April 13 are open to the public leading up to the Red-White Spring Game, sponsored by Cox Advanced TV, on April 21 at 2 p.m. If practice is held inside Walker Pavilion, it will not be open to the public due to space constraints. The practice schedule is subject to change. Please check ArkansasRazorbacks.com for any updates.
