South Carolina Gamecock football player Angelo Watley was arrested on 3 charges (read below).

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A freshman linebacker with the USC football team has been arrested on several charges.

John Angelo Watley, 18, has been charged with larceny/grand larceny, financial transaction card theft, and second-degree burglary.

Columbia police say just before 7 a.m. Monday, officers responded to a residence on Senate Street in reference to a possible burglary. When officers arrived on scene, two people inside said they'd seen Watley in their home.

According to the people inside, they were asleep when Watley entered the home.

Whatley is accused of stealing more than $2700 in goods including electronics such as a Mac Book, an iPad, and money.

Officers say they arrested Whatley on site and recovered the stolen items.
His bond was set at $50,000.

USC officials confirmed Monday night that according to their policy, Watley has been suspended from all team activities.
Watley, who's from Lawrenceville, Georgia, played prep ball at Peachtree Ridge High School.

Never understood why so many football players do such stupid things. It's at every campus.

You have such a tremendous opportunity to live a life the majority of people can only dream of (playing a game for a career), yet so many kids decide that a few hundred/thousand bucks right now is worth throwing everything away for.

He's fortunate to not have been shot. I can promise if someone steps a foot in my house in the middle of the night and I don't know they I will shoot and then figure out who they are later. I have a wife and two young children. I would have to call the morgue not the cops if he was in my house.

Don't know why they ever think they can do stuff like this and not get caught. Burglary is a pretty desperate move. He had an opportunity to succeed in life. Not an easy thing! If you are given that chance, don't throw it away. Sorry to see this happen.

That's only true if you count the shtuff that by some miracle makes it out of Pickens County. If all the wrongs by clemson players that get swept under the rug got out, there wouldn't be a Fulmer Cup...it'd be the Clemson Cup or Pickens Cup or something like that..Howard's Cup.

Let me get this straight. We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and will be fined for if we don't, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it but exempts itself from it, signed by a president who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese and financed by a country that's broke.

What could possibly go wrong?
