Ty Smith will end up being a good pickup, we could see him at TE this fall. A lot of talk with us moving to a 2 TE set with many three TE sets. a true FB instead of an H-Back off set. Either way he'll be getting some early looks seemingly.

It would seem the suspicions of Chris Williams' grades have come true, he's flipped from Bama to UCF. A lot of people saw this coming after his visit last weekend. The entrance requirements are below Alabama and the SEC, so take that FWIW. Still sucks, he looked to be an underrated addition to this class at Safety.

Yeah I hate to lose him. I think after a year or 2 in the weight room he could have been a good one here.

Lotta chatter going around about Evans,Chad Thomas and potentially Travis Rudolph (if FSU lands Dupre). Tomorrow could be a exciting day

One article predicted that Alabama would get 7 starters from this class next season

The top end of this class looks way better than last year. I think A'Shawn Robinson and Jonathan Allen will be good players, but guys like Robinson, Humphrey, Hand and Scarborough are just freaks.

I won't talk about the other 5 star.

Apparently we still have a shot with Chris Williams.

AB says OJ Smith will not qualify.  He has a bit to think about it seems.

Congrats on the pickup.

Thanks.  I kind of feel bad that we got him knowing that AU really could have used him more.  If we get the rest of our guys this will be the biggest mop up of top recruits ever I think.  Definitely our best class.

Got a JUCO TE last night Ty Flournoy-Smith.  He played 2012 for Georgia.

http://www.al.com/sp...ent_from_5.html

I think NS likes to spend Scolarships on JUCO guys cause you only commit a scolarship for 2 years rather than 4 and that allows you to sign more players every year.  When you get a top ranked JUCO usually you get really good athlete and one that you're going to play right away.  If you plan to bench a guy that you're only going to have for 2 years it is pretty much a waste of a scholly on a 1 year gamble.  Coaches just don't do it.
In this case, he'll have 3 years to play two.

Jackie Sherrill lived on Juco talent.

and then when a bunch of them didn't pan out, he died on it.

Christian Miller and Ronnie Clark (OLBs) haven't checked in yet.  Were they waiting to see if Bama landed Evans?  I don't want to lose either one.

I would be really upset if we lost either, especially Miller, but I think we'll be fine. They won't all be playing the same position.
