That's now 8 guys competing for basically two spots. Although Yeldon probably has one locked up. I'd have to think Hart is on his way out and I can't see Drake/Kamara/Jones getting significant playing time the next four years as they don't really fit the scheme. That leaves Fowler, Henry and Tenpenny.

I thought we had too many with Mason, Grant, Artis-Payne, Barber and Ford but y'all have a stable.

We were going to use 3 last year with Fowler playing more of an H-back/Fullback type role. We had to stuff Jesse Williams in when we ran with a FB. Look at Fowler. He came in behind Lacey Trent and Ingram. This year he will probably be the starter and should be looking to make an NFL roster. IDK how he sold these lighter/faster RBs so well on UA, but they are nice to throw in as a change of pace and sometimes they are handy when you need to run outside rather than up the gut against these big OM and AU D-lines.

It's like how we signed 6 OL last year. It's fun to count the stars and look at the rankings but you know they can't all play. I think Kenyan Drake and Dee Hart just got jumped easily and I just can't see Kamara or Jones beating out Henry and Tenpenny. Unless Henry switched positions.

With Scarborough committed for next year it's completely possible that none of them ever see significant playing time.

For the running back situation. Guys all leave early... guys like Kamara are expected to spread out and play some receiver.
There is also that hybrid running back, HBack, TE, FB role that Fowler was playing before he got hurt. That's a different position that I think Henry will eventually play here too

Firstly it's 3 RB's that will get consistent carries, then we have the H-Back spot that will feature Fowler/Calloway(forgot him) and now Henry.
This isn't a negative, if whoever doesn't win the spots they'll either wait their turn which is always a three year window now, or they'll transfer. I guess this is how it has to be if you want a consistent machine though.

based on vids, I like Tenpenney the best of him, Jones and Kamara.............I believe Saban's intention is to play Henry at RB, ask Jones and Kamara to redshirt, and keep tenpenny, Henry in the rotation, special teams
I don't know wtf Saban is going to do with Callaway cuz I don't see Callaway at LB, I don't see him at RB or HB now with the newcomers and Fowler being back
good problems to have

Henry is a physical marvel but Tenpenny is 10x the athlete. I agree he's the best of the 4.

Maybe it'll be three but I was just going by what it's been under Saban. It was Grant/Coffee, Coffee/Ingram, Ingram/Richardson 2x, Richardson/Lacy, Lacy/Yeldon with very little other involvement.
Fowler was involved year before last and wouldve been heavily involved without the injury this last season, Hart was too................we were blowing people out in the first half last year that both Fowler, Hart and Drake were getting plenty of carries and frankly with the offensive talent on board, I can see multiple backs again getting carries in the 2nd half

I'm sure Calloway loves the rings, but if he'd gone here he'd be a returning starter at LB and have a decent shot at getting to the next level.

A heck of a lot of good Peaches did for him. I BET you he regrets his decision if he is swallowed by the Bama machine. And it looks like that's the case.

amazingly, the Tide signed 10 players that were in the top 5 of their respective postion nationally
we signed 16 players overall that were in the top 12 nationally of their respective position
Saban is a freaking alien
