This may be a first: a scholarship given to a long snapper. Bama has been blessed with some good LS who were walk-ons (Carson Tinker, Brian Selman, Drew Lane, Bradley Ledbetter) but Saban does not want to leave anything to chance. Supposedly, Mazza has perfected this craft. Ignore the 2-star rating that some of the recruiting services give him. That is based on his ability as a blocking lineman.

There have been rumblings about Monty Adams being a possibility. Don't think that he will come here but if Bama could land him or Vanderdoes along with Paige and Liner, I'm gonna go nuts.

heres a naive question.................do the Tide take who committs at this point on a first come first serve basis? Yea it could get ugly as we run out of spots. I think the staff knows who will commit at this point within 90% though and maybe has a guy or two that are fall back guys. NS will hold a spot for most all of those guys or maybe make a spot - but he pretty much has to know who will sign within 1 maybe 2 spots. We are almost certain to miss on one or two guys.

Vanderdoes is such a toss up between us and UCLA it's so close. I think we land Conner, just seems like he really wants to come here but like everyone knows so much pressure to stay in state for those top Miss. recruits. Kamara, Liner, and Robinson are pretty close to being locks as it gets. Oh and we probably get Reed if Vanderdoes goes UCLA but if not the UF. Despite Bama rumors Adams goes to AU and Bell goes to UT (should've committed when he had the chance).

After de-committing from Texas on Saturday, five-star defensive tackle A'Shawn Robinson (Fort Worth, Texas) appears likely to sign with Alabama on Wednesday. Five-star safety Antonio Conner (Batesville, Miss.) and five-star defensive tackles Eddie Vanderdoes (Placer, Calif.) and Montravius Adams (Vienna, Ga.) will also have Alabama hats on the table when they announce their decisions.

Commitments from four-star defensive linemen Dee Liner and Jarran Reed and four-star running back Alvin Kamara would also pad the Crimson Tide's ranking and potentially vault it ahead of Florida, which already has 25 commitments, on ESPN.com.

If we were going to ask a RB to redshirt it would be Jones.

That's probably just some crazy rumor, we're going to need every RB we can get ready to play next year.
