Sooo to catch up on this busy day:
-Reports that Vonn Bell gave a silent commitment today to Nick Saban at his in home visit. After a while it was shot down but...
1. I believe ESPN has a NSD agreement with him, so Bell is probably trying to keep it on the low and wait for his announcement.
2. Just came back from Ohio St over the weekend who is considered the other contender and didn't commit.
3. Saban in home visit tonight and a trip to Tuscaloosa this weekend. We're looking mighty good.
-Tim Williams commits to the Tide. Top recruit out of Louisiana, from Baton Rouge I believe. Future OLB for us.
-Dee Liner decommits from Auburn, looks like he's Bama bound.
-Eddie Vanderdoes the DT from Cal met with Rumph today in California and is taking an OV here 2/1. Starting to look good for him.
-No news but I really want Laremy Tunsil, going to be a great OT.

Hearing from across the river Liner is coming to Tuscaloosa that's a big steal if true.

"I didn't come to Alabama to win 10 games a year and be a contender. I came here to win championships. Conference Championships and National Championships. I love it here because that's just not what I want, but what this fan base expects." --Alabama Head Football Coach, Nick Saban

Liner will be wearing Crimson, just hope he leaves his baggage in Muscle Shoals.

Liner appears to be a lock...which is great. The staff wanted a couple more DTs, but I don't have a good feeling about EV coming here from Cali. If he actually takes the OV, then great sign.
Williams committing right now was a bit of a surprise. I'm not totally shocked he went with Bama, but I thought he'd give it hella thought to go with LSU eventually because of all of the defections to the NFL. But he's a great fit at LBer IMO...he wants to play Sam, but I am sure he'll be a Jack.

If there is one place that can straighten Liner out, I have no doubts it's in Tuscaloosa. That doesn't always mean it will work out though.

Tennessee sent coaches to Bell today, so if we start going hard after other DBs soon, then we'll know. I think Bell is taking the time because he wants to know for sure whether or not he wants to take the risk of being a Vol. If he wasn't a Vol fan this would have been over, IMO.

Dont you mean..."We didnt want him anyway"?
(I kid)
Basically....if this ultimatum thing they're talking about is true. It's only because they didn't want to get embarrassed on NSD as everybody knows he's not staying there.

Reuben Foster-There have been several reports that Foster may have committed to the UA staff over the weekend. Per a source that was with Foster on the visit, that is not true. The visit did go very well with 8 of Fosters family members making the visit with him. The Tide staff has tried to get both Reuben and his mother to focus on the long term plan they have for Reuben and shift the focus of early playing time that AU and UGA are trying to sell. Two other factors are in play here. His daughter and his grades. One source claims that Reuben has a long way to go before he can qualify. So prep school or JC is in the picture. Also his mother has custody of his daughter and getting the Mom on board could go along way with Reuben. The feeling is that Reuben would like to go to UA...Will the influences around him allow it to happen ?????
Laremy Tunsil-A great UGA source tells us that the UGA staff feels that they are in the drivers seat with Tunsil following his visit to Athens this weekend, The two factors that have the Bulldogs out in front right now are the chance to start as a TRF and UGA has long been thought to be his mother's favorite school. CNS and Lance Thompson still have an in-home visit left prior to NSD. Alot can happen between now and then, but right now we feel UGA is the team to beat.
Eddie Jackson-We will have a full story and film up in the morning on Jackson, but following his UA OV this weekend, he named the Tide his leader. He has a firm offer from the Tide staff and has been offered as a corner. He still has OV's scheduled to LSU and Arky. This will be a situation to watch. He has quickly become a priority for the staff.
Jason Carr- The 6'6" 270 DE from Memphis had a great visit to ttown, He has been a long time UT commitment, but UA and Ole Miss are very much a factor. Carr has been a priority for the UA staff since a standout performance at camp this summer. Carr has the perfect measurables for a 5-technique DE in a 3-4 defense. Carr is scheduled to visit Ole Miss next weekend along with guys named Nkemdiche, Tunsil and possibly Carl Lawson. Qualifying is a concern for Carr as well.
Alvin Kamara- We spoke with Kamara for a few mins. earlier this evening. He claims he had a great visit to UA and was excited that both his mother and sister got to see the campus and meet all of the coaches. Kamra has the ability to play multiple positions at the next level, but will be sold on being the "featured RB" during next weekends OV to UGA. Right now we feel UA has a lead over UGA.
*We have not been able to reach Vonn Bell, but were told UA is in good shape.
**As we reported earlier, DT Montrvius Adams will be on campus until tomorrow at lunch time due to arriving late on Sat.
***Current Tide commit Bradley Bozeman has agreed to Greyshirt. He could still sign and enroll this summer if a spot opens up due to another prospect failing to qualify academically.
****Do not be surprised if another current commitment is asked to take a greyshirt in addition to Bozeman.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- With 21 commitments already on board, Alabama’s recruiting class is running out of spots.
But one opened up over the weekend when Bradley Bozeman and the Alabama coaching staff agreed to a grayshirt, meaning he won't be on scholarship until next January. That would open a spot for another recruit in this class..
“It’s the best decision for me,” Bozeman said. “It would give my knee time to heal, and let me come in more mature, bigger, faster, stronger and ready to actually compete for a spot because coming in off a knee injury -- more than likely, I’m going to get redshirted. Once I get redshirted, that year is gone.
“If I come in January, that gives me another six months. I’m not putting wear and tear on my knee, giving it plenty of time to get right and just trying to get back to it.”

“We’ve been keeping on the down low right now, for them, because we didn’t really know,” he said. “It was more of a heads-up just in case that did happen, giving me time to prepare for it. We didn’t really officially know until this weekend.”

“It was great,” he said. “I had a blast. We toured all of the facilities, the Bear Bryant Museum, ate like crazy, just had a good time.

“I guess [the visit] went good for him,” Bozeman said. “He seemed like he was having a pretty good time. We didn’t really talk about where he was going. We were just kind of hanging out this weekend. He’s going to do what he thinks is the best decision for him, and that’s what he needs to do. Hopefully we’ll end up with him.”

Eddie Jackson could be a real good one. I heard that Lucky over on BOL said he was a better prospect than 5* Bell
This past weekend

Averett, Paige, Foster, Bozeman, Kamara, Adams, Bell, Robinson, Jackson, Carr, Jones
Monty Adams is listed to be the same size or bigger than Paige but from the pic and reports from campus, Paige is a larger individual

^^^ CNS certainly loves what he sees in Jackson and I don't think he is a backup plan to Bell. I really think he wants both. Not sure that Jackson is better than Bell at this point.
Either way, Jackson loved his visit

"They said everyone will tell me lies about how you can't compete with other guys at Alabama and that I won't play as a freshman. Coach Saban broke it down to me like it really is. I love the coaches, every last one of them. They all showed me love. My mom and dad loved it."
Jackson is scheduled to visit LSU this weekend followed by a visit to Arkansas. The plans may change.
"Alabama is my favorite," he said. "It was really a combination of everything that pushed them to the top. I am undecided right now if I will take any other visits. I will talk with my parents about everything. We may know something by the middle of the week. My mind might be made up now."
