Shame that Hearns decommitted, but there have been rumors for a while so at least the coaches were prepared.
Hopefully we land another good LB.

I heard he committed. I could be wrong, but that's most likely where he'll end up anyway.
Blame UTAD

I wonder if Powell will recommit on NSD? As far as I know its down to us and So Cal. He originally decomited after we picked up another LB if I remember correctly so Hearns not having the grades and leaving the class may lure him back in. Also, I heard UK is Hearns' new leader even after he went to Auburn last weekend

We don't have the time or space for a sign and place. When he visited us they looked over his transcripts and realized the same thing your coaches did, he's not gonna get in. We have moved on to a JUCO guy.

Welp, then it sounds like he may be UK bound. The gatorsports.com article I read said he listed them as the new leader anyhow

“Coach Durkin let me know I wouldn't be able to get into Florida because of my grades,” Hearns said. “He said I needed to explore my other options, which I've already started doing. I knew this was coming.”
I don't know who we get instead.
Hopefully Powell.
I hope tOSU gets Hearns so we can all make fun of their academic superiority bull.

I don't usually like Zach's stuff, but this is a great article.
http://recruiting.bl...rt-of-the-flip/
On flipping Dante Fowler from F$U:
“Not one time did he say anything bad about Florida State to me or my son, not one time,” he said. “And that was kind of a shock because we got that from other schools. But Will never talked about them. He and his staff just said made us feel comfortable.
“Coach Muschamp was honest and passionate about what he did, and so was his coaching staff. Basically, they never lied to us. Other schools did.
On flipping Alex Anzalone from Notre Dame:
“Florida was the only school that recruited him throughout the process,” his father said. “Muschamp always kept the door open for him, and (new defensive coordinator) D.J. Durkin was tremendous. He came up and saw Alex after he had committed to Notre Dame just because he was in the area and wanted to see him. They didn’t even talk recruiting.
“Most kids can distinguish between perception and reality. Coaches will promise and say many different things. But Alex saw the sincerity of Muschamp and his staff. He recognized their honesty and care for him, which ultimately won us over.”
On flipping Matt Rolin from South Carolina:
“In the end, I had to do what was best for me,” Rolin said. “South Carolina stopped calling me. During the season I didn’t hear from them that much. So I decided to take a visit to Florida and coach Muschamp gave me some good advice.”
“All the schools stopped recruiting Matt after his injury, but I must say Will and D.J. really cared about Matt,” Rolin said. “They were concerned about getting his knee rehabbed and it wasn’t a problem for them. They had a close bond with Matt and our family felt their staff would support him the right way.”
On flipping Demarcus Robinson from Clem$on:
But Robinson said Florida’s coaches recruited him harder than any other staff in the fall, and their efforts paid off.
“I expected him to go to Clemson and honor his commitment, I encouraged it,” Campbell said. “But coach Muschamp and his staff just wouldn’t let up. I think the relationship they built with Demarcus was real strong, and he knew they were going to take care of him like we did. But I still can’t believe they changed his mind to be honest with you.”

Remaining UF Prospects
James Clark- 4* wide out (slot) who is taking his last visit today which happens to be in gainesville. UF already has 2 slot guys in Alvin Bailey(4* ATH) and Chris Thompson(3* WR) committed but Muschamp is making a late push to grab a 6th Wide out in this class. Obviously its a need, and UF seems like a big player in landing him.
Quinton Powell-4* OLB. Originally committed to uf, but decommitted when more linebackers were committing to take away his playing time. But with Hearns decommitting, Powell's interest has picked right back up. Powell is down to UF and SoCal, with UF seeming like the leader.
Montravius Adams-4/5* DT Kind of a longshot for the Gators, but Muschamp is a miracle worker at the art of recruit flipping. Seems like he's favoring UGA and Clemson, more UGA with his recent visit. Not to mention his mother really liked the visit and it's his home state school.
Jaynard Bostwick- 4* DT Recently cut down list to Bama, UF and Miami but now is down to UF and Miami. “Miami is close to home and he's familiar with the school, but his best relationship is with the Florida coaches,”-Bostwick's high school head coach. He will visit the Gators this weekend where he gets a chance to meet some of the current players. Obviously wouldnt be a starter immediately like he would be at Miami, but in the words of his head coach "Jay-nard is the type of kid that wants to earn it and doesn't want anything given to him.” It seems like Florida has a big shot at landing him.
Ryan Timmons-3* WR from Kentucky, who has his list down to UF and UK. Why is Florida going after this kid? Well the main Timmons recruiter was Joker Phillips, the former UK head coach now UF WR's coach and recruiting coordinator. Timmons had a great relationship with Joker while being recruited so it wouldnt be odd if he signs.
Tanner McEvoy-3* JuCo QB from Arizona. Because of Brisset leaving, Muschamp is looking for a backup with game experience to come backup Driskel. Originally a player for South Carolina but transferred when Conner Shaw won the backup role. Dual Threat QB who could fit the Oregon and West Virginia offenses which were his leaders but with Chip Kelly leaving for the NFL and West Virginia not showing him much love, he's changed his list to UF and Wisconsin. With Florida recently hiring USC's D-line coach, the Gators made a late recruiting season surge after him because of Lawing's familiarity with McEvoy. But I think the beautiful mid 60's winters Gainesville could be the deciding factor as he visits this weekend.

I'm so glad we are taking 6 receivers in this class.
We haven't had a great one since Louis Murphy and David Nelson.

I know, I was really pushing for one last year but none came in except for Pittman. But I think Demarcus Robinson might be to us, what Amari Cooper was to Bama last season. Maybe not a thousand yard receiver but his production could be really crucial with him being that down field threat, Ahmad Fulwood being a huge target in the redzone, and Alvin Bailey being the ideal slot receiver build and speed, as well as return specialist, it could seriously open up the two headed monster of Matt Jones and Kelvin Taylor.
I played against Ahmad my Sophomore year in high school, the guy was a Freshman and I got stuck covering him on one play and oh my god. That guy was huge and skilled already and he's had 3 years to get better.

Apparently Nick Washington (4* Safety from Jax) is going to wear #22 when he enrolls to try and be like Matt Elam who was his favorite current gator.
