We may well get 16 teams & 4 divisions. Know what I really like? Add ONE team, go to 3 divisions of 5 with one permanant rival & have the 3 division winners & a "wild card" team do a play in for Atlanta in a seeded format (strongest div winner gets wild card & 3nd & 3rd strongest div winners face off - home team for playoffs decided by a tie breaker system similar to what we have now to decide a division winner)

Interesting...you may be on to something with this. Sort of like a MLB playoff setup. Could definitely work

3HL is a great show. 102.5 is what people listen to when they are in need of sleep. The 180 show is weak and Paul, I love soccer, Kuharsky, is barely tolerable.  As for the thread's topic, I never wanted 12, so you know where I stand.

I want Tulane & GA Tech back!

Evens out the divisions (in terms of football strength) & gives us road trips to Atlant & NOLA.

If we're gonna do it, let's do it right!

Anyone wanna meet at the Krystal for late nite burgers???

I'll admit there may actually be some legs to Travis' implication that the ACC added Syracuse and Pitt because of an inevitable departure of two teams to the SEC.  I think it would've been smarter for them to take West Virginia as ACC football could use the help.  If we're going to expand and we're going to do it right, pulling out all the stops to get North Carolina here should be priority one.  As I've been saying since Day 1 of this whole expansion thing, we're not going to go out and get Florida State, Clemson, bring back Georgia Tech, etc.  It will be either Virginia or Virginia Tech, and one of North Carolina, North Carolina State, Duke, and Wake Forest.  Duke and Wake Forest are pretty much 0% chance.  We have a much better shot at getting VT than we do UVA.  VT fits in with us and it wasn't so long ago that they were apart of the Big East, so they're clearly willing to move in a way that grants them upward mobility.  However, they'd also be losing that easy road to the BCS.  UVA's a great school, one of the most beautiful campuses I've ever set foot on, would add to our academics, and would give Ole Miss fans someone to talk about "gameday fashion" with.  Between UNC and NC State....NC State is a campus in the middle of a city.  I didn't think it was great to look at.  Reminds me of Cincinnati's campus.  They'd be a middle of the road addition in all aspects.  UNC however is where the fan base is, the prestige, and of course, the money.  A full on assault should be made to get them to join us.  Wouldn't be terribly hard to convince them to play Duke once a year and us twice instead of vice versa as it currently stands.  Lord knows the UK-UNC games the past couple of seasons have been infinitely more interesting than the Duke-UNC games.

We would have to change the league name to the minfl

Eta

Oh pt something I learned yesterday points to  nc  state being a no go too. Nc state is part of the UNC system. 8 of their 13 trustees are appointed by UNC. How likely do you think it is that UNC trustees would let nc state take off for the sec?

I only listen to 102.5 when I want to listen to Preds games. Kiharsky is the best one on the midday 180. I can't take Withrow, dude is a douche nozzle

This is all about money obviously.  If enough money is on the table, any school can be persuaded to join.  On a side note, Virginia Tech also has a strong ROTC program and general military tradition.  Could make for a great cross-divisional matchup w/Texas A&M.

Or with us. Rotc was required your first two years at msu up until the mid 60s. They didn't stop requiring uniforms too long before that either.  There's a reason the big open area St the center of campus is known as the drill field....
