Blah, should of played with this fire against Vandy.

This team has disappointed me this season so far, but I can't help but watch.

Green proved to me today if I am an NBA team, I don't want him. Oh, he can play....all-american performance against UK on the big stage, but plays like a dog most of time....the pros don't want or need a guy like that.

To all my Alabama friends...if your coach can get his team to focus and play to this level against UK, then how do you explain your dispicable showing in so many games including against Vandy, Dayton, etc.....Alabama is an elite 8 team when they play at or beyond their abilities like they did today. I hope I am wrong, but I doubt we see this again until they play UK again
I don't care what anybody says, Bama has talent, and Anthony Grant has a plan. I think Alabama is underrated. Their losses have been close, and their games have been entertaining (eg. MSU). They made this Kentucky fan sweat today... Go CATS!!!

Green had what 6 at home against Vandy? Mitchell 0? Are you kidding me? Yes they are a very talented team...but I question how good a coach Grant is....what he can only motivate his guys on the big stage? Trevor Lacey is a great player...but man other than homestate loyalty...He chose to play that boring style, chinese water torture would be better, over playing at Kansas or Kentucky? If I was a great high school player...I would really have to have a talk to myself about whether I wanted to play that style.....

Never fear Bama fans. This was our last really tough game for a while and we are about to hit another level of play after three straight losses. We are about to go on a winning streak.

I dont know who SERDI is, but I have to agree with him. All this game did was make me even more angry about performance against Vanderbilt. How is the team that takes the second-ranked team in America to the wire on the road also the same team to get dominated at home just two days before? We are too good of a team to lose in that fashion on our home court..

Anyways, congradulations to kentucky. The Cats are going to be a threat to win it all this year.

Helluva game Bama. Glad it wasn't in T-town again this year or we might've dropped 2 in a row to ya'll.

It is VERY hard to perform at a high level all the time. UK has ridiculous talent and can overcome on athleticism at times. Bama doesn't know how to do it all the time. They don't realize that teams playing them are gunna step it up because they got very good talent. Nobody is gunna take them lightly and if they slack off at ALL they will lose.

If Bama brought their A game every game (like today) would they have the same record?

I think today's proves they wouldn't.

Florida and Mississippi State are the only two real chances at marquee wins left on the schedule (though Arkansas is looking impressive today vs Michigan and could ultimately end up in the tournament discussion, too)...but between UF and MSU, we HAVE to win one of them, at least. If we drop 'em both, we're gonna end up on the damn bubble once again...

We go from playing the best team in the SEC (Kentucky) to the worst team (South Carolina). It is a road game, but we are a significantly better team than the Gamecocks and SHOULD beat them by double-digits. If not, then I'm gonna start pointing the finger at Grant and not just the players.

After South Carolina, we also have Arkansas and Ole Miss (home), then Auburn (away) over the next two weeks. We have had a brutal three-game stretch, but it is about to get easier for us as we face some of the average/poor teams of the SEC. There is no excuse for us to go worse than 3-1 over the next 4 games...and to be honest we really should go 4-0.

My only question is why the heck do you have Hankerson in there for the last 14 seconds down by 4. Then, why the Original Image: http://www.sectalk.c.../lanekiffin.gif is he taking the shot when we're down by 4. Grant confuses the shit out of me sometimes. That was just a stupid stupid decision.

My point was not to promote Bozich...most the time I think his writing is weak and his reputation nationally is based a lot on the fact that he writes for when the Bingham family owned, one of America's historically good newspapers, the Courier-Journal.

However today's article was, I thought very good. And, it was I thought a very positive reflection on both Kentucky and Alabama...particularly to my points yesterday about Alabama. If I was an Alabama basketball fan, yesterday would have really frustrated me....how can you be so focused and play so well against the best and not do that in so many of your other games...those are questions that everytime I woke up like I do as an old man during the night that I would have been asking myself.

I watched a replay of the Vandy game last night since I couldn't watch it on Thursday.

We looked strong against Kentucky, but as I said yesterday...tt did frustrate me about the Vandy game even more so. We are way too good of a team to lose in that fashion to anybody, but after some reflection I don't think you can peg it on Grant at this point.

Grant made a comment after we lost to MSU last week that some of our players were not playing as a "team" and playing more for themselves. I hate to speculate, but the first two guys that come to mind are JaMychal Green and Tony Mitchell. Both are NBA-level talent but play with true freshmen-type of body language/demeanor. Our true freshmen like Lacey, Randolph and Jacobs have outshined them in the maturity aspect of the game. It should NOT be that way.

I think you'll find that Grant's system, when executed correctly, is exciting, fast-paced and aggressive. Hardly "boring" basketball. The problem is we have a few veterans that aren't taking leadership roles we need them to take, and are instead choosing to hang-dog around and make street-ball type passes down the court that end up as turnovers.

If we are going to go anywhere in March, Green and Mitchell need to lose the bad body language, start hustling their butts on every possession and quit acting like they want to fight someone anytime they get a whistle called on them.

I have every bit the faith that Grant is doing great things as a coach, and these freshmen have stepped up into regular contributing roles quicker than I think most anticipated...now it's time for our "leaders" to LEAD.

lol....don't get me wrong man, he's better than Tipton. Christ....the mindless drivel I spew on here is better than Tipton. I read it and didn't have any issues w/what he said. Seemed like a straightforward write up, which as a fan, is all I ever want out of my newspaper. I do like Eric Crawford a lot. He at least seems to consistently be objective, even if I don't always agree with his opinions.
