Congrats on getting him.  Knew it was going to be hard to keep a guy like that from wanting to stay close to home.

But if there is one spot we can afford to miss on its at wide receiver.

In the end, getting Hines and Jonathan Williams to flip to us from Mizzou may be worth missing out on DGB.  Would have loved to see what he could have done in our offense though.

Yeah you guys have a few strong 4* WR coming in next season if I remember right, and even if were not cross division rivals yet, we definitely are recruiting rivals now, you guys were definitely sticking it to us, until Gibson switched to us last week and we managed to keep DGB home, we're both actually coming out of the deal pretty good. Williams will definitely be a good running back for you guys, thankfully we still have Josey for 2 more years.

Gibson's commitment was up in the air, if I remember correctly.  He was committed but it was basically a "if this guy doesn't commit its your spot" kind of deal.  he should be a good one though.

Offensive recruiting is really the last thing I'm worried about.  Much more excited to add some depth to the secondary and FINALLY land a big time linebacker.

Looks like more Arky/MIZ recruiting battles in 2013 for some Missouri in-state kids.

Nick Ramirez(Rivals 4*)
Chase Abbington(Rivals 4*)
Zeke Elliot(Rivals 4*)
Zach Hannon
Antar Thompson
Eric Biesel

All either have early offers from both schools, or are showing high interest in both schools.

This years class is off to a really good start. Mizzou has locked up most of the top in state kids. They are in good shape with a few other local offers. Alot of smoke about a possible flip to MU from OSU commit Zeke Elliot. Today they got another 4star OL. Jake Campos, the top player from IA.

We have a ton of offers out in FL and GA, and it seems like a good amount of interest from many players. I am excited to see what players we might be able to pull from the SE. I have a feeling it may be alittle bit of wait and see this year from those players though this year.

Players commited so far;
Chase Abbington - ATH(RB) - 6-4/210 - 4 STAR (#22 POS RANK) MO
Alec Abeln - C - 6-4/275 - 3 STAR  (#9 POS RANK) MO
Joe Burkett - LB - 6-3/200 - 3 STAR MO
Jake Compos - OL - 6-7/250 - 4 STAR (#24) IA
Harneet Gill - OL - 6-7/260 - 3 STAR  MO
Trent Hosick - QB - 6-2/215 - 3 STAR (#15) MO
J'Mon Moore - WR - 6-3/178 - 3 STAR TX
Aarion Penton - ATH - 5-9/165 - 3 STAR MO
Nick Ramirez - LB - 6-1/228 - 4 STAR (#11) MO
Clay Rhodes - OL - 6-6/265 - 3 STAR KS
Anthony Sherrils - ATH - 6-1/174 - 3 STAR MO
Antar Thompson - DT - 6-3/295 - 3 STAR (#23) MO

Great to see Mizzou already making a big splash in recruiting. Lets keep reeling in those 3, 4 & 5 * recruits. :thumbu:

So Abbington was recruited as a RB? A 6-4 RB is rare these days....

My understanding is that is where he wants to start. Mizzou lets good two way guys who are talented enough both ways to pick where they start out. Then if its not working out they have their suggestions for positions. I have heard he wants a crack at RB to start. I dont know if that will stick or not

That's very similar to how USC oftentimes recruits two-way prospects..

Eric Beisel to decide where he wants to go tonight. He will be deciding between Mizzou, Arkansas, Nebraska, and Illinois. Rivals, 24/7, and scout have him as 3 stars. Espn has him as a 4 star recruit.

The number one receiver in the country, Laquon Treadwell, will be visiting Mizzou next week. Wouldn't it be something if we got two straight number one receivers. http://rivals.yahoo....250#latest_news

Not like you guys have to worry about us trying to steal anymore top recruits out of Missouri for a few years coming. We should be done for a while, trying to get all the talent in AR and a handful of 3s or 4s out of Texas to get established again.

@Mizzou_Fan, just hope this #1 WR doesn't enjoy the recreational drug as much as the last one. HAHA!

But that would be crazy, to have two #1 WRs in two consecutive years.

We have two more 2013 recruits that have commited. One is QB Eddie Printz from Georgia. He is a 3 star recruit.
http://rivals.yahoo....e-Printz-102892
The other one is Nate Crawford, a 3 star DE from Florida.
http://rivals.yahoo....Crawford-127484
I like that we are getting recruits from Georgia and Florida.
