We did have the injury bug as UK4Life pointed out. We were playing with a makeshift O Line and our backup QB played half the season. I still don't think that Pinkel is on the hot seat but he is getting closer. You pointed out the Stoops got a good recruiting class in a short amount of time but Mizzou didn't have a good class. I think that is because players can see change at Kentucky with a new coach and new system. At Mizzou, there is no change with the head coach so the players are looking at the same system.

This and next year are make or break for Mizzou and Pinkel. This year we need to make and win a bowl game to impress some recruits. Next year we will have some players contributing who were recruited to play for us in the SEC. If Mizzou can do good in these next two years, I think we will be having some decent success in the near future. If we did bad, it will take years for us to get out of the bottom of the conference.
I think it should be worth noting that we've never had a Top 30 recruiting class in our history.  So for us, it's a little more than new coach/new system.

Thanks for the response.  I'm looking forward to seeing Mizzou make their Bluegrass debut in person this season.  I have a couple of buddies that live in St. Charles that are coming down for the game.  Lexington has some beautiful countryside.  Ya'll come on down and enjoy the Keeneland fall meet, quality bourbon, and SEC football.
