Reading some predictions that have us playing Kansas State in the Sugar Bowl. That'd be a fairly intriguing matchup, at least more intriguing than TCU.

Intriguing as in awfully similar to the Michigan State game? This is why I hate conference affiliation in bowls. Put us up against Oregon or someone that was actually in national title talks as well.

The way I look at it, everything had to line up correctly, ending with a loss of Ok State ot the Sooners.  But after the Cowboys  :lanekiffin: ing annihilated OU, the odds are now even more against The Crimson Tide ending up #2, since the voters are more likely to pay attention to the the last thing they saw, which was the game last night played where Oklahoma played worse than a pee-wee team.

So true.  Clemson is ranked about 15th and will be in the Orange Bowl!  The non-MNC BCS Bowls should be given to the top 8 teams in the country.  To me, that's a bigger injustice than the way they crown the champion.

I want to see the rematch so that an SEC team will finally lose the NC game.

I heard Lou Holtz say that Bama is the 2nd best team, but OKst deserves the shot because they won their conference.

I don't buy this logic. If it's clear who the 2nd best is they should play for it no matter who it is.Put conference affiliations aside and put the best on the field against one another.

LSU and Bama would curbstomp OSU in most folks mind,so what's the point in proving it.

It doesn't matter.  Bama had their shot.  OSU deserves it by default.  It will be an ass whipping of epic proportions.

Also,I think it's grossly unfair to have a team humiliated just to press a point across.

The only fair way to decide between who should play against LSU for the BCS title is to judge Bama and Oklahoma State by the same standard as has been used for years in matters such as these, strength of schedule. This has been the established standard for years to leave teams out or put teams in. Why is this season any different?

OSU fans chanting "LSU, LSU, LSU" is like a group of white mice chanting "PYTHON, PYTHON, PYTHON".

Now that's funny!  Kudos!

Really this is a conundrum. Is it right to give more weight to the fact OK State lost to an unranked team on the road in overtime than the fact they had more wins against ranked teams and faced a tougher SOS overall? But on the other hand is it right to ignore the fact that Bama's only loss came in overtime to the only undefeated team in the nation that just happens to be ranked #1?

To be totally honest I don't think it's right to decide between Ok State and Bama based solely on who they lost to. Doing this ignores their total body of work for the rest of the season. For years we've heard the "strength of schedule" argument be made to keep teams out of the BCS Championship. being that this has been the overriding factor in years past it must be given the same weight now as it has in years past.

okay then, as far as our body of work, we didn't just beat everyone, we beat them leading the nation in 8 defensive categories, and a top 30 offense, scoring almost 40 points a game and holding opponents to less than 8 pts a game

but that's the same argument we've heard form teams like Boise State for years and those arguments have always fallen on deaf ears due to the strength of schedule factor. it's always mattered who you did it against more than how you did it in regards to stats.

Look, i have no doubt in my mind that Bama is the second best team in the nation and would love to see them play LSU for the BCS national championship. However, I'm a firm believer in precedence. And the long established deciding factor between two teams who have the same record has always been strength of schedule. My only problem in all this is that strength of schedule, which has been the deciding factor time and again is now being totally ignored. If it was the deciding factor in past years this year should be no different. Who beat the most teams with a winning record and who beat the most ranked teams? Answer that question and you have the team that should get the nod.

I know as an Auburn fan I'll catch flack and be accused of just hating Bama. However, I hope that my reputation here with most should be strong enough for them to realize I am not just blindly hating on Bama nor is the fact that this involves them influencing my position whatsoever.

had OKST lost in regular season to LSU in OT and Bama had lost to a 6-6 Vandy, I can assure you that Bama wouldnt be in the conversation nationally

it's Bama resentment in the SEC, and SEC resentment nationwide that is the cause for all the uproar

Boise's opponents year in and year out are not close to an SEC Teams schedule but I get your counterpoint
