If Bama still gets in fine if not I'm fine with that too its been a great season already. It may be just wishful thinking but I think Bama is still in it and here's why... The BCSCG is suppose to match the best two teams and I think the "eye test" of the voters still gives Bama the nod. I also think most are looking more at losses than wins and the loss to Iowa st. is something voters won't look past.
The SOS argument is debatable many of those Big12 teams are highly overrated really what has Okie st. proven? They can beat the same teams Texas Tech and Baylor can beat? They did win their conference but still I think in the end the only question that matters and is the end all be all is... What are the best two teams in the country?

Any given year but this one and Bama woulda run the table for an nc with their team. There are only a hand full of people who truely understand how good this Lsu team is. No offense Lsu but the only way I'm pullin for ya in the nc is for it to be ok st ya play. If it's bama then, I got a son over there, its bama I pull for. Yet I don't care how good bama is. Lsu is as physical a team I ever saw and they will have people on yo team unintentionally hurt by the end of the game. Lsu is as fast as any team I ever saw and more than one will catch you every time. Lsu does play smart or it appears they do cause their unbelievable talent covers up mistakes. And finally Lsu plays loose just like their coach coaches. Miles may have been the perfect coach for these players to succeed like they have.

I'm not as emotionally invested either way. On one hand, an all-SEC Natty would showcase the two best teams in the country, period. Of that, there should be no debate. That said, most people don't want to see that game again. IMO, the truest way to show how dominant these two teams were all year is to take the best of the rest( Okie St.), and allow them to be sacrificed to the Tigers. Yes, it'll be a bloodbath. But can you think of a better way to highlight how good Bama is to play LSU that close?
And I'll be laughing my ass off at the computers' bias towards the BIG 12 over the SEC. There has to be a majority of programmers from BIG12 country for that shit to happen...

Unfortunately the best 2 teams don't always play while the BCS is around.Look at 04 Auburn.

Kinda sad that IF Bama gets left out, it's probably as much due to "9-6" as anything... Had the score of that first game been 17-16 or 21-20, people in other parts of the country might not be complaining as much about a sequel.

That's actually a great point. One of the most disturbing things in CFB this year is that so many fans, writers and analysts look at that game as if it was a "bad" game. Whenever the Ravens and Steelers play a really low-scoring game like that and only one or no TD's are scored, I don't see people dubbing it a bad game.
People don't appreciate great defensive football anymore, and Alabama and LSU have the two best defenses in the country. That 9-6 game was the product of both defenses making key third down stops to end drives and the punters playing field position. Just because it was an old-school type of game doesn't make it a bad game.
People don't even realize we have the 16th best scoring offense in CFB. All I hear from OSU fans/rematch haters is "9-6! Can't even score a TD!! Herp Derp!!".

Having slept on it, I still feel the same way as I did in the OP. I feel we are one of the two best teams and that we could beat LSU on any given ballgame, whereas I feel OSU would get waxed. BUT, we had our chance to control our own destiny, we didn't, and I think it's only fair that a team who won their conference and beat so many top 50 opponents deserves to go, regardless of how bad the ISU loss looks.

Really this is a conundrum. Is it right to give more weight to the fact OK State lost to an unranked team on the road in overtime than the fact they had more wins against ranked teams and faced a tougher SOS overall? But on the other hand is it right to ignore the fact that Bama's only loss came in overtime to the only undefeated team in the nation that just happens to be ranked #1?
To be totally honest I don't think it's right to decide between Ok State and Bama based solely on who they lost to. Doing this ignores their total body of work for the rest of the season. For years we've heard the "strength of schedule" argument be made to keep teams out of the BCS Championship. being that this has been the overriding factor in years past it must be given the same weight now as it has in years past.

Reading some predictions that have us playing Kansas State in the Sugar Bowl. That'd be a fairly intriguing matchup, at least more intriguing than TCU.

From what I saw on College Gameday Final, ESPN expects Bama in the BCS Championship. Who are you seeing predicting the Sugar instead?

It doesn't matter. This is LSU's time. No one can beat them right now. The Alabama Steelers couldn't do it at home, so how in the hell would they do it in NO?

Congrats on your title, LSU.

Herb and Musberger also said they didn't care what Mike Gundy had to say you don't lose to Iowa st. and play for the title...but who knows?

BAMA would beat Kansas St. By 40.
I wouldn't mind seeing Bama vs. Wisconsin, but it won't happen.
