Liquor Barn has a crap load of booze to choose from.  An entire aisle of bourbon in fact.  Shopper's Village down on campus has a solid selection as well.  I don't know what you guys have in stock out of state, so it's hard for me to say how extensive our selection is compared to what you're used to.  I assume it's better here by rights.  The Beer Trappe on Euclid has a great selection of "classy" beers, I definitely recommend checking them out.  Good place to drink as well as to pick up beer.  Marikka's on Southland Drive, my usual hangout, has over 400 beers to choose from.  It's not a store, just a bar w/a German restaurant on the side. Do yourself a favor and get some Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale while you're here.  Don't think it's sold out of state.  Actually I don't know if it's sold outside of Lexington.  Any of you other Kentucky guys can validate that, I really don't know.

The only place I have seen Bourbon Barrel Ale is Lexington.

If you guys are coming up to Lexington, if you arrive on Friday try and hit up a tour of one of the distilleries.

Good site for info...

Not sure about food wise. I am def not in the know about Lexington as I used to be. I always enjoy Malone's myself. But it is expensive. There are plenty of bars to hit up downtown and scout the local talent (if you want to do something like that)
