I'm getting pissed off.  Do you have any idea how fruckin stupid that statement is?  Sure the 2 unfunded wars and tax cuts cost us money and revenue, so how do you fix that?  By electing an idiot that spends even more money that we don't have?  Hell no.  It's simple addition and subtraction that these morons in Washington can't figure out.  You don't spend more than you take in.  That makes me have absolutely no more respect for Obama than I had for my ex-wife.  They are made from the same mold and I hate them both.
You know as well as I do, most people long ago forgot the things they learned in Civics class. As American citizens, it is our duty to become educated on those who are running for elected office.

America should have known that when Barack Obama was running, that he was a Keynesian in terms of economics. Most Dems are.
Most didn't give a damn and elected him because of his smooth oratory. Most didn't educate themselves on his policies, economic leanings, etc. As I said above, if you are going to be dumb, you've got to be tough.

My conscience is clear. I wrote in Ron Paul in 2008. If he's not on the ballot, I'm doing it again.

I dispise both parties and yearn for the old-time GOP before they were hijacked by Nixon,  Reagan's fantastic acting job, the Conservative Christian Coalition/Teabaggers. I am your straight-up typical old-time Conservative. Think an Ike-Republican/Libertarian if you will.  Now, what do old-school Conservatives stand for?
1. Sound Money
2. A peaceable foreign policy unless the US is attacked, and then your ass is grass.
3. A strong military, but not a bloated miltary that is controlled by the MIC . Ike warned against this.
4. American jobs for American workers.
5. Conservative, modest investments in America.
6. Respect for all citizens regardless of race, gender, sexual preference, religious preference, etc.

Now, what has every RINO (especially Nixon who took us off the Gold Standard) done since that motherf***ing crook, Nixon assumed office?
1. Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush 41 and Bush 43 all did their damnedest to destroy the dollar and to end our former policy of sound money. Reagan and Bush 43 in particular should be given credit.
2. Reagan, Bush 41 and Bush 43 all dragged us into military adventures not out of necessity, but rather to pay back the MIC in this country that lined their pockets with campaign cash. Not a one of them wanted a peaceful coexistence with the world.
3. Should be self-explanatory. Every Republican since Ike has done his best to see who can make the f***ing MIC in this country the most bloated.
4. Every one of those sorry SOB's since Ike have sold us down the river. Every one of those SOB's gave a huge tax break to the wealthy in this country and wtf did those wealthy basta**s do? The pocketed the savings and took American jobs elsewhere because it's cheaper to do that.
5. Not since the 1950's under a certain true-blooded Republican has a GOP President invested in America. Our infrastructure now is a joke and it falling apart.
6. Also self-explanatory. Since the 50's, the Republicans have been the party where the most racism, homophobia, intolerance of other's religious preferences/no preferences has existed.

You know what you get with the Democrats of today.

Austerity has made the debt situation worse in the UK. Tax receipts have fallen and welfare payments have risen. That is what happens when your economy takes a tumble.

Kudos to the Tea Party for a genius plan. Only they would do something like this as we had the example of our mother country failing with the same policies right before our eyes. The party of Palin. The party of idiots. They learn nothing from history. They can't even learn from contemporary events.

Thanks, but actually I've taught myself about economics over the past two years.

I can thank the University of Mississippi chapter of Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) for raising my awareness about the differences in Keynesian and Austrian schools of economics in particular. I just went from the basics that they taught me about them and went from there learning about the two I mentioned and others like the Georgian, Marxian, Neoclassical, Classical, etc schools of economic thought.

You like to call that stupid, but it's completely true. If you put Casey Anthony in charge of your kids, the only person to blame is you for doing so. The last president enacted these 3 policies which got us to this point. We'd still be here if McCain had beaten Obama and we'd probably be even worse off. Obama has been ineffective in fixing these 3 major clusterf*cks and at the end of the day, that falls on him, but don't for one second act like he was the reason we're here or that the GOP hasn't stood in the way of him fixing these problems.

The GOP wouldn't budge on the Tax Cuts, so President p*ssy gave in to them. That's his fault for that, but just like with the Wars, what Obama wants to do and what the GOP lets him do are two different things. The last two years have been nothing but "NO, NO, NO" from them.

The last guy drove the car into the ditch. This guy is having a hell of a time getting it out and he's getting no help from the GOP, and you act like it's his fault because he's been unsuccessful.

Why don't you quit blaming Obama for the mess you largely supported and let him fix it? I don't hear anyone yelling for a 5% reduction in Defense spending. I don't hear the right saving we arent withdrawing troops fast enough, how much would that save us? You want to get the debt under control, how about you get rid of loopholes on private jets. But no. If we have to fix the debt, it has to be on the back of policies the right-wing doesnt like. And the p*ssy Dems are letting you do it too. Sad thing is the gutting NPR, Planned Parenthood, and the EPA does almost nothing for the debt. You want the economy better, it's time to start address those 3 things while doing reforms on the other big $$$ projects.

you keep singing the same moronic song................first of all 75% of the crisis we're experiencing is related to the mortgage crisis NOT Bush and his policies.....CONGRESS spent like madmen during his reign, not BUSH

and to remind you of what jacob found:

Quote

Senator Obama, 2006]

The fact that we're here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better. I therefore intend to oppose the effort to increase the debt limit."

If any one is blaming it on one side or the other you're either stupid or blind by party politics.  You don't get this far in debt with only one side or one issue.  There is a major flaw in how Congress and the President is running our country.

And if you want to blame Bush for where we are right now, what will you do in 10 years when our debt is on pace to be twice at big as our GDP?

Where is Warren Harding when we need him? The depression he faced in 1920 makes our problems seem puny in comparison. It took him about ONE YEAR to right the ship and open up what is still one of the longest sustained periods of economic growth in American history. If you want a lesson on how to take care of business then look at his response to the collapse of 1920 and compare that to what FDR, Carter and now Obama did with the economic problems they each faced.

This is all because of the Bush tax cuts. This is nothing but a scheme to undermine Social Security and Medicare by the right. Cut the Pentagon budget in half and eliminate the Bush tax cuts and we will be in the black in no time. That is the damn truth.

We don't need troops in Europe. We don't need them in Japan or the Middle East either. We need to develop our own energy sources and rebuild our broken down infrastructure. That is the way out of this mess.

The Tea party is a conspiracy by certain uber rich interests. They are nothing but small government ideologues that believe in a utopia that has never existed. That is the world of David Cooperfield. It was not a utopia.

We are not broke period. We have some of the lowest tax rates in the world. We also have a military empire that is very expensive. Japan and Europe can provide for there own defense. If we developed our own energy resources, young American men would not be dying and being maimed in the middle east right now.

Nice try Link.

The bottom line is make everybody pay their taxes. When you have companies with more monies than your government and 52% of your population paying their fair share of their taxes, ITS EVERYBODYS FAULT. Idiot politics got us into this and piling on more while calling press conferences and acting like they have something to be proud of just proves to me that we pretty much have 50 states worth of morons. It has everything to do with bi-partisan politics and not doing whats right for us.

I see JSHD is not acquanted with perhaps the greatest POTUS in the 20th century, Warren Harding. President Harding took office in 1921 just after the greatest economic collapse this coutry has ever faced. The downturn of 1920 was deeper than the ones saw in The Great Depression or the one we're in now.
instead of trying to reverse the depression by massive spending, huge debt and huge tax hikes, he cut government spending first by 25% in 1921 and another 25% the following year. Along with this he sashed income taxes for all income brackets. Unemployment went below 5% and the 20's saw what is still one of the longest sustained periods of growth in our history.
