If we've learned anything this college football off season it's that the SEC is amazing at cheating.

If Yahoo hires a couple more investigative sports reporters Vanderbilt may play Duke for the football National Title.

Who gets the Death Penalty Oregon or Ohio State?
Neither, you'll never see the death penalty again in college football.

Quest for 15.

ROFLMAO First the Suckeyes and now the Oregon Sucks. Is every team whose fanbase was beating the "SEC = cheaters" drum gonna get slammed with probation?

I disagree....the best coaches in the sport are those who don't have to cut corners and/or cheat in order to win.
And whether they flounder or just do what Bama and did & enjoy a less than usual level of success while they went through the sanction years is on them. Like Bama, maybe they'll build it back up the right way and go after a championship a few years from now. I kinda doubt they will, myself....OSU has a better chance than Oregon but who knows how far the Oregon thing goes & how long it's been going on & whether the NCAA finds any of that out.
I'm glad a lot of these things are blowing up in the off-season...this is prime recruiting time for next year's classes and three big players who have been recruiting nationally aren't going to be for quite a while. That none of those (southern cal, osu, oregon) are in the SEC will make it easier on teams from our conference to 1) do more national recruiting than usual if desired and, 2) keep our home state talent and pipeline state talent from going to Ohio, California or Oregon to play their college football.
They're getting what they deserve....I feel bad for the players on those teams who didn't ask for any of this which is why I think if any program gets busted for doing this type of crap and are found guilty of X-number of major violations, that ANY player on their team be allowed out of their scholarship & allowed to play THE VERY NEXT SEASON for whomever they can transfer to - with no conditional releases.

Yeah, I definitely agree that the best coaches are the ones who run their programs the right way. What I meant is that it sucks that we won't get to see Kelly's innovative offense in action and Tressel always produced a competetive football team. So, from an X's and O's point of view and as a diehard college football fan, it sucks that we won't see them in action this year.
I also agree about the player transfer situation. It sucks for those guys who worked their whole high school careers and, heck, even before that to go play college football and win something big- and now they can't. Just multiply that times over for guys who don't have NFL talent, and this is it in terms of their football careers.

Well said. You know, it's kind of ironic now but I can remember a discussion awhile back where TRB (not to dog him) was saying Georgia could do better than Richt, even said Chip Kelly was a guy we ought to go after. Specifically he used Ohio State as an example, and how they didn't win it all under their previous coach but hired Tressel and he took them to the next level.
In retrospect now, it's worth pointing out that the "win at all costs" philosophy has brought this onto Oregon and Ohio State. They'll both suffer for their willingness to sacrifice integrity for wins.
I just hope the NCAA can actually get its head out of its ass and put a stop to the REAL rule-breakers (not the trivial bullshit), so the programs that are going about their business honestly will be rewarded, and we won't see the cheaters playing for the national title.

To be fair though, Kelly was one of many I thought we should go after. I believe I also listed guys like Golden, Gruden, Edsall, Mullen, Muschamp etc.

Yeah I know, just pointing out that while we've been questioning why we can't win titles like the rest of these teams, turns out a lot of them lately have cheated to get there.

Ok so Oregon paid $25,000 to a guy to persuade recruits to go there, Auburn most likely paid thousands to Cecil Newton for Cam to go there, and a few tOSU players sold awards for tats but the coach lied saying he had no knowledge. What Oregon just did is leaps and bounds worse than tOSU. If Auburn wasn't able to cover up the Newton transaction, that would be the worse than both. Just sayin. Oregon gets the death penalty and it will be years before they can come back to a national level. tOSU is one of the annual traditional powerhouse programs of CFB, even if we get thrashed by the NCAA, it wouldn't take long for us to make a comeback. Took Alabama 8 years. Of course, they play in a real conference.
