Oregon took a guy that already had a deep relationship with high profile recruits and paid him $25,000 to use his relationship to steer them to Oregon. Plus, Kelly and the University of Oregon lied to the NCAA in regards to what Lyles provided them for the payment.

It's exactly the same as if Auburn paid Cecil Newton to steer Cam to Auburn. The EXACT same thing, and Kelly tried to cover it up.

Chip Kelly and Jim Tressel should get together and go bowling. They'll both have a lot of free time on their hands in the future.

Lyles cleared the other schools he worked for. Each other school (Auburn, LSU, etc) recieved exactly the value of recruiting info they payed for and also provided a checklist of specific items for Lyles to provide.

Yeah, Oregon is screwed. Chip Kelly will resign soon and Oregon may end up with worse penalties than USC got. Lyles says that he, with the knowledge of the Oregon AD, helped transfer guardianship of Lache Seastrunk to his grandmother, because his mother didn't want him going to Oregon.

Lack of institutional control, loss of a bunch of scholarships, bowl ban, probation, maybe more.

This is literally the equivalent of Cecil Newton coming out and saying that we paid him to steer Cam and showing the NCAA the paper trail of the payment.

Oregon can't even dance around this. Kelly will be gone before the end of the weekend once ESPN reports it.

Man this stuff is getting old. Two of the best coaches in the sport right now (Chip and Tressel) are now gone and two schools prepped to make a title run are going to flounder around in the wake of NCAA violations. I wish the season would hurry up and get here so we could get to playing some football!
