In all seriousness, you won't have virus problems anymore if you got a Mac. Pretty dependable.

Come to think of it ny acer was pretty Shitty. It'd take a good 30 mins to boot up and to get working properly. It put out an enormous amount of heat as well. It would burn your leg if you had gym shorts on

Mac,s can get viruses. As more people use this OS, more hackers will target them.

2 options, fix the one you have or buy a new computer. So, How much money do you have vs how much you want to spend?

S.O.B.....the exact same crap happened to me! What about just installing Linux or Ubuntu on the laptop's harddrive? Is it essentially useless now and I have to replace it? I'm posting on my old standby right now. My wifi drivers got deleted so I can't access the net w/the laptop. I'm not even going to try to open iTunes w/all the stuff I have loaded in there.
My problem is I got the same message and it told me to insert the boot disk, which of course I never made, like an idiot. I booted in safe mode and so now it half works, but I can't get back to that boot disk message which I subsequently made a disk for using this CPU's Windows 7 64 bit OS. Now I can't get back to the point where I need to use the boot disk.
Do I need to just replace the harddrive or is there a way I can create a disk and reinstall Windows 7 and use my hard drive? I suppose I could put it on my F: and start booting from the xHD but the last thing I want to do is give these jerk-offs a reason to target my music collection.
