Evan Marzilli aggravated hamstring in Thursday. If he can't go, Ray Tanner says it will be Jackie Bradley, Jr. "probably" in centerfield.

I'll go ahead and focus on the positive.   I'm pretty thrilled things are going so well they would even consider putting him in the field and, more importantly, at the plate right from the start.

Also the media guys at practice yesterday said Adam Matthews was CRUSHING the ball so another great sign.

I really like Marzilli but he's been struggling in the post season, and if we have learned anything from this season it's that this squad will not let injuries set the team back.

Another outfielder injured?

Hasn't hurt the Gamecocks yet...

Hopefully not if this means we get JBJ back!

Just worried about any rust he has built up by being out for 2 months

Man....that just sucks out loud.  Evan has been solid; hope it's not bad & he can come back soon.  Having JBJr back helps a ton but I think it's safe to assume he's going to be a little rusty after having been off so long & not even being able to swing a bad until Wednesday, much less swing at live pitching.

Has Evan been battling hamstring issues???  I don't remember anything but 'aggravated' to me means he had a previous injury and hurt it again....no?

Hamstring injuries are so fickle.  He could be back next week or he could be out for a year.  It's like saying sore ankle.  Broken, sprained, strained, bruised?

Yeah I'm expecting him to play after today's press conference.    Ray said they'll have to wait and see, but he added that Evan was definitely giving him the "don't even think about sitting me" treatment, hah.

Both Bradley and Matthews appear to be near full healthy now....Adam is reportedly totally healed from his own hamstring...but both are rusty with their at-bats in game situations. They both will be taking their lion's share of ABs before Sunday, I'm sure. Sounds like Evan will still be playing, but his hammy may be a little raw. We'll see....we have some OF options now, but they are rusty.

I would also like to know the status of Thomas and if he'd be able to play C during the CWS, rather than just DH. If he can get behind the plate, it would free up Beary to perhaps be another option for the OF....

Injuries are hard to deal with but they do create a lot of options for you when everyone returns.
